‘Heechul remains to be my best friend,’ Hangeng

It is common knowledge among Super Junior (SJ) fans that Heechul and Hangeng were room mates and the closest among all the members, even being known by the couple name, Hanchul.  As the lone Chinese member of SJ, Hangeng didn’t know any Korean, and Heechul was his first first friend who took good care of him in both in work and life. Heechul also talked about how he taught Hangeng lyrics of Korean songs in the broadcast, YoungStreet.

They were always staying together on shows, kissing and giving love in their performances. It was not surprising that Heechul was the one most badly hurt when Hangeng left. Several articles also revealed how Heechul became depressed and locked himself up in his room for months. The concert in Beijing this January was the first one without Hangeng and fans saw Heechul crying heavily for the first time when singing a song .

Now, people are wondering what the status of their relationship is and whether or not they still communicate.

Recently in a Chinese article, Hangeng openly said, “Heechul remains to be my best friend.” He also added of their friendship, “We lived together and shared every word with each other.”

While Hangeng visited Korea recently for two days to shoot an MV, he was nevertheless too busy to invite Heechul. They didn’t meet until Heechul specifically joined him, as mentioned by Hangeng. Since Hangeng’s mum is a good cook, Hangeng hopes to invite Heechul to his mum’s restaurant someday to try out the dumplings.
