10 ‘Must Watch’ K-pop CFs
Anyone who is someone in K-pop features in Commercial Films (CFs) sooner or later. Most of the time, the genre of the CF reflects the image and members of the group. One can hardly ignore the soaring sales of Nature Republic since JYJ and Rain entered the campaign, or how everyone wanted an Anycall Haptic after the Haptic CFs were released.
Take a peek at 10 of the most viewed CFs in K-pop. You don’t want to miss these!
1 – Anycall Haptic
This CF brought together two of S.M. Entertainment‘s most promising groups, DBSK and SNSD. Their playful nature and camaraderie were evident onscreen, as it was during the commercial’s filming. Xiah Junsu manages to steal the show at the end of every one of the commercials in this trilogy.
2 – iStation
Put Big Bang on the small screen and they can sell almost anything! This particular CF extracted the best out of each member. With G-Dragon and T.O.P.‘s trademark rap along with Daesung‘s incomparable trot routine, this CF is sure to have you in splits.
3 – Super Junior‘s Noodle CF Parody
This parody is perhaps the most hilarious of the lot. The original noodle CF was adapted by Super Junior’s Sungmin and Kangin, which led to surprisingly funny results along with the ‘aegyo’ factor that Sungmin brings with him wherever he goes.
4 – Alba Heaven
MBLAQ‘s Cheon Dung has outdone himself once more as he appears in the CF for Alba Heaven, a firm that finds part-time jobs for youngsters. His name is appropriately modified to resemble ‘Cheon Guk’, which means ‘heaven’ in Korean. Check out as he pop-ups in various part-time jobs throughout this CF.
5 – Yamaha Bikes
Yet another rib-tickling CF from TVXQ, as they endorse Yamaha bikes. Yunho‘s “Ah!” expression at the beginning and Changmin‘s “Seab-mak-mak” at the end, had many a viewer push the replay button over and over again.
6 – Lotte Duty Free
This was the most star-studded CF of 2011. With JYJ shopping, Big Bang riding a magic carpet, 2PM steering a pirate ship and Kim Hyun Joong on his own little planet, all in less than four minutes, this CF definitely packs a powerful punch.
7 – Ottogi Noodles
A relatively recent CF with JYJ’s Yoochun filmed him in his most suited habitat: relaxing in an armchair with his guitar on a snowy morning. His unique voice and the equally addictive tune, “Kissmyeon darling, Kissmyeon, Kissmyeon tonight~,” will have you humming along in no time.
8 – Fino Bikes
Siwon fans will agree that this CF for Fino Bikes could well be tailor-made for the “Shibrows.” Watch Siwon, Leeteuk and Shindong in this extremely short (18 sec.) but equally comical CF.
9 – Reebok
Right from the days of Replay and A.M.I.G.O., the members of SHINee were known for their unique training shoes: from Taemin‘s baby patterns to Jonghyun‘s golden blings. So it was only natural that SHINee be chosen to represent the sporty and youthful brand, Reebok.
10 – Ice Tea TIO
This series of CFs is another feather in Yoochun’s cap. He portrays a male professor teaching at an all-girls’ school and the funny misunderstandings that ensue. Don’t miss Yoochun’s never-ending exasperated expressions while on the job!
