14 lifeguards fired after parodying PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’

As PSY‘s Gangnam Style becomes a worldwide hit, different parodies are being uploaded online.

In Los Angeles, California, 14 lifeguards tried to make their own version at a city pool in El Monte where they work. Their version showed the famous horse dance as well as some synchronized dancing at the pool.  However, after the video was uploaded, the young lifeguards were soon terminated at their job by their city for the reason that they were “using city property, including the pool and their uniforms, for private use”. The workers claim that the video clips were recorded during their break time.

this jus show that psy is so popular that even lifeguards want to do a parody.i think its unreasonable to jus fire them because of using city property aren't they citizen too its not like they are damaging it and plus its their break time.

The reasons they were fired do not make sense to me. It was during their break, no other people were there, and if it was used for their personal use isn't that what everyone else uses the place for? So, when you take pictures of your kids, friends, etc then you are misusing the place for your personal use to. They should not have been fired!
