Mizz Nina staged ‘Around The World’ with Jay Park

On 18 May, Malaysian global pop artist, Mizz Nina, staged her first ever major concert with an unique theme entitled, Around The World. For this explosive concert, K-pop star Jay Park flew in to Kuala Lumpur as special guest to perform alongside for their previous collaborative track, Around The World, which has garnered massive thumb ups by fans; both Mizz Nina and Jay Park’s alike.

For a more grandeur show, Mizz Nina’s former hip- hop group Tek Tarik Crew, her husband Noh Salleh, and Hidayati Yusop from Ahli Fiqir were also invited to the stage, formulating a winning list of artistes’ appearances to the delight of the concert-goers.

Eagerly, Mizz Nina started her 90-minute concert first with a series of English songs such as Just Do It, Hit Me Up, Away With You, What You Waiting For and Take Over. She took mesmerizing control of the fans with her distinct vocal, along with skillful dancers, and had the fans chanting along as she performed passionately on that one spotlight. With many changes of eye-catching stage outfits, Mizz Nina had certainly won well-deserved praises from fans for her utmost efforts to make this concert a special one.

Prior to the opening of the segment of Malay songs, Mizz Nina thanked sincerely to all fans as she was surprised to see many fans coming for her first major concert, and not forgetting her respectful parents who were watching her from the second floor of the venue, supporting their gorgeous daughter.

After expressing her gratitude to everyone, she then took the stage with her husband, Noh Salleh of band, Hujan, with a sweet and warming song titled, Kurnia, accompanied with guitar playing by her husband. With blue soft lights illuminating upon them, the whole venue instantly turned into a romantic scene where love was presented among the artists. Fans were absorbed into the sweet surreal scenic as the couple performed a duet, creating unforgettable around-the-world moments.

Before everyone started to forget Jay Park’s presence, the atmosphere was then brought to another level when the song Around The World came on. Fans started screaming as they knew that it was finally their K-pop prince’s turn to spin their world.

Jay Park made his first special appearance of the night with Mizz Nina for the hit collaborative track, Around The World. Both artists heated up the stage dynamically as they also grabbed the chance to showcase their unique dance choreography for the first time on stage together with more than ten dancers. Fans were all pumped up because they knew they were now the only first few fans ever to witness the two performing together on the same stage live.

Right after, Jay Park continued to take over the stage with his recent release, Joah, melting fans’ hearts, especially with lyrics ”You know that i love you, I’ll always be with you baby”. He then later turned up the party mood with an upbeat track, Nothing On You by B.o.B. Jay Park continued to heat up the stage with his final and last track for the night, an English version of Girlfriend. Fans could hardly restrain themselves as Jay Park displayed one of his most highly well-known creative skills, b-boying, and wowed everyone with energetic and smooth moves.

After Jay Park’s solo performance, Mizz Nina reappeared back on stage, dressed in dazzling outfit for another few more songs before wrapping up the concert.

It was one of such unforgettable nights that fans can always remember fondly in which they were finally being taken Around The World by Mizz Nina and Jay Park together. The experience was out of this world, fulfilled.

Lunafly: Singapore, best lah ~

Lunafly: Singapore, best lah ~

Sam, Teo and Yun of Lunafly, proved their popularity once again, this time in Singapore with their recent showcase held at The Hard Rock Cafe on Sunday, 12 May.

Nega Network, home to famous girl groups Brown Eyed Girls and Sunny Hill, debuted a trio band, Lunafly, back on 27 September 2012, with their first single, How Nice Would It Be. Despite being an acoustic band, their passion in performing music is never lesser than any idol group. Previously, they promoted their works internationally in Japan, Indonesia and Malaysia, which received high interest and earned compliments. This time, they took another international step forward to meet Singapore Lukies (official fanclub’s name) in the country.

‘LUNAFLY Showcase Live in Singapore’ was held at the Hard Rock Cafe at 4pm on 12 May.  Despite the hot and humid weather, die-hard Lukies began lining up from 6am, even before sunrise. With international fans coming from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Japan to catch the showcase in Singapore, the regional popularity of the band is undeniable.

When the boys entered the stage dressed in edgy black and white outfits, their Lukies entered into an immediate state of wild and endless screaming. They quickly greeted their beloved Singaporean fans with a warm introduction. Half British Sam was overwhelmed and expressed in fluent English that the three of them were very happy to be in Singapore to meet their fans. Without further ado, the boys took the stage with their song, Clear Day Cloudy Day. Fans chanted to the song all along in harmony.  The boys were utterly taken aback at how well the Lukies could sing.

Being a YouTube sensation covering songs of global artists, Lunafly continued the showcase with a series of song covers, such as Justin Bieber’Baby, Maroon 5′This Love and Bruno Mars‘s Lazy Song. In between the performances, Yun and Teo cheekily showcased their English speaking abilities. Being the maknae, Yun, who was so shy to speak, spat out ”Singapore, best lah~”(Lah is a type of Singaporean slang that most Singaporeans use to end their sentences) when he was asked by Sam how he thought of Singapore so far.

Teo, who was eager to showcase his English skills, pulled a joke on his hyung by saying: ” You are half English?’‘ when Sam said he has a strange English hair.  Sam responded with ” You just found out ? ” to Teo’s funny remark. Teo could never stopped with his silly English as he expressed himself that he is a half giraffe and half pigeon, causing the burst of laughter from the fans. Despite the language barrier, the boys were still able to engage the fans with laughter.

After the quick fan chat, Lunafly took the stage again with one English track Endless Road by the Singaporean Chinese artist, JJ Lin. JJ Lin is known for his Chinese songs and the fans urged the boys to perform a Chinese track as well if there is a chance in the near future. Although Yun and Teo are both native Korean speakers, their enunciation to every single English word is concise and precise. The boy continued the stage again with Jessie J‘s Price Tag, Maroon 5′s Payphone and Super Hero from their first mini album and Bruno Mars’s Just The Way You Are before concluding first half of the showcase.

After the short break, the boys reappeared on the stage again with a 360 degree changed outfit dressed in colourful outfits portrayed in their first full-length album, Fly to Love. Second half of the showcase began with a cute rhythmic song, One More Step, to warm up the stage before turning up to an upbeat atmosphere with Van Gogh, melting the fans’ hearts with lyrics such as ‘‘Baby You and I~”. During the talk, Sam was surprised to see many lightsticks waving in the air. He said, ” What are all these lightsticks? I have never seen it before.’‘ All of them were actually Lunafly’s official lightsticks but it was their first time seeing it. Teo playfully borrowed one from the audience and began promoting the lightstick to the fans with his cute English. Later, they kept the show running with What Is Your Name and Seeing You or Missing you. The boys heated the stage more with Olly Mur‘s Troublemaker, 2 tracks from first full-length album; Innocent and Young, Fly to Love, Bruno Mars‘s Locked out in Heaven and finally last song of the day, 50 Ways to Say Goodbye by Train. The boys went off the stage right after the show and left the fans with chants of encore endlessly, wanting the boys to come back again.

As the chanting went louder and louder, the boys slowly reappeared on stage with encore to One Direction‘s medley; One Thing, What makes you beautiful and Live While We’re Young. The event was then followed by the photography session with the VIP ticket holders, wrapping up the night filled with elated Lukies.

Special thanks to JNation Entertainment for the media invite.
