Five Reasons Why You Will Fall Strongly In Love With Park Hyung Sik

By  |

Park Hyung Sik is someone you can’t help but love.

Since his debut in 2010 as one of the members of ZE:A, South Korean singer-actor Park Hyung Sik has moved slowly but surely up the ladder of success.

From singing and dancing and sweating it out in variety shows to dedicating effort and time to perfect a role, what is not to love about him?

He has grown from an idol to one of the most in-demand actors of his generation that we are no longer surprised when thousands of fans in the Philippines flocked KIA Theatre on November 11 to see him up close in his first ever solo fan meeting in the archipelago.

Hellokpop knows that the feels of that night are still as strong as Do Bong Soon. And so, read on, recap, and relive the night of the 2017 Park Hyung Sik First Love in Manila with us as we give you the five reasons why you will fall strongly in love with Park Hyung Sik.

Park Hyung Sik

#1: His Singing

We love actor Park Hyung Sik, but singer Park Hyung Sik will always have a special place in our hearts.

The Strong Woman Do Bong Soon lead actor began his career in the entertainment industry as one of ZE:A’s vocalists. He was also part of the group’s sub-unit ZE:A FIVE alongside members Si Wan, Kevin, Min Woo, and Dong Jun.

Aside from his activities with ZE:A, he took part in musicals such as Temptation of Wolves (with Super Junior’s Ryeo Wook) and The Three Musketeers. He also sang official sound tracks (OST) for his dramas.

Philippines is lucky to witness his live singing – not once, not twice, not thrice but a total of four times. Park serenaded his fans with “Because of You”, “Two People”, and “I’ll Be Here”. He also sang a bit of Park Hyo Shin’s “Gift”, a song he sings whenever he feels down or having a hard time.

Get lost in his soothing voice and remember to hold on to your jaws as you watch him effortlessly hit those notes in our video below.

#2: His Generosity in Sharing His Life with Fans

Park did not hold back in opening portions of his life to his fans during the fan meeting. The singer-actor took his fans with him as he recollected his childhood days, introducing his best friends from elementary years until now, how he once dreamed of being a lawyer, and being naughty and getting scolded by his mom.

He spends his free time playing games (He’s good at it, he said.), taking selfies (that he promised to upload on his Instagram), fishing, and chilling at a hot spa with his childhood friends and a bit of alcohol.

Park Hyung Sik seems to have good friends who appreciate “art” and we cannot thank them enough for this treasure.

According to the singer-actor, his friend took the photo during one of their getaways at a hot spa because of Park’s good backside. And we will never contest that.

He also shared his passions and hobbies which include Iron Man, water sports, and traveling. Sadly, the singer-actor did not have enough time to enjoy the various water activities in the Philippines, but he promised to come back and go scuba diving!

#3: He’s Up for Everything

The hours, days, weeks, months, and probably even years of waiting to see Park Hyung Sik up close surely paid off as the Hwarang actor gamely tried Filipino foods, drinks and toys in traditional Filipino clothing barong.

He ate sisig (a dish usually made from a pig’s liver and head), sago’t gulaman (a thirst quencher made from brown sugar, gelatin, and tapioca pearls), guyabano (a fruit from the Graviola tree), and kamias (a fruit often used as a souring agent in the Philippines).

On behalf of the Filipino community, we applaud Park Hyung Sik for his bravery in eating one whole kamias in one bite. We also apologize for laughing too hard in his misery afterwards.

Thank you, Park Hyung Sik. Manila traffic will always be bearable with this video below.

As if his cuteness above is not enough to make our day, the singer-actor did not miss out on working on his Filipino. He gifted his fans with his adorable takes on Filipino phrases such as “Ma, para sa tabi“, “Nakakaloka ang init“, “Ang pogi ko, di ba?“, “Pwede ba kitang ligawan?“, and “Mamahalin kita maging sino ka man.”

Thumbs up to his effort and frankly, he sounds so good! We have a video to prove it.

#4: His Acting

Park began his acting career with cameo appearances in Prosecutor Princess, All About Marriage, and Gloria in 2010 before starring in the SBS’ drama special I Remember You. Since then, he has built his acting résumé through various dramas including Dummy MommySirius, and Nine: Nine Time Travels.

His popularity as an actor further rose with dramas The Heirs, What’s With This Family?, and High Society. In the latter part of 2016, Park Hyung Sik took on what he described as the most challenging role he had so far – Sam Maek Jong or King Jin Heung in Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth.

The year 2017 may be the singer-actor’s most groundbreaking year as he starred in his first every lead role in a drama. He played the character of Ainsoft’s CEO Ahn Min Hyuk in Strong Woman Do Bong Soon.

Park said during his fan meeting that if he would live as one of the characters he played, he would choose to be Do Bong Soon’s Min Min. Who will be his Do Bong Soon? Of course, his fans.

Hold on to your seats, people, and brace yourself to cry in jealousy because six lucky fans had the opportunity to be Goo Ara and Park Bo Young in the drama reenactment game. The best actresses each won a personalized candle and a photo opportunity with the singer-actor. Talk about lucky!

Move on from jealousy now and prep yourself for Park’s return to dramaland with the Korean remake of American legal drama Suits.

#5: He Appreciates His Fans

The 2017 Park Hyung Sik First Love in Manila is Park’s first ever solo fan meeting in the archipelago and fans did not let the night end without showing him their love and support.

Philippine fans of the actor prepared video presentations and fan projects to express their admiration and relay their promise to stay by their “star” as he shines brighter in the universe. They also gave him an advance celebration for his birthday on November 16.

Fun fact: The barong Park wore during an earlier segment was a gift from fans!

And Park Hyung Sik appreciated all the effort, thanking his fans all night for the overwhelming welcome and support. Before he sang his final song, the singer-actor did not forget to address his fans through a letter. In the letter, he thanked everyone for waiting for him and for loving his dramas. He asked fans to look forward to his new project.

He also made a promise to come back and remember everyone’s smiles and love.

Our standards of men have risen and the possibility of staying single for a lifetime is higher, but we can (probably) survive because we have the unforgettable memories of 2017 Park Hyung Sik First Love in Manila to keep us warm and smiling.
