G-Dragon drops MV for ‘MichiGO’

G-Dragon has finally dropped his music video for MichiGO.

On 2nd April, the K-pop superstar released the audio for MichiGO through LINE, a mobile messenger app. After a grueling wait, fans are finally able to watch the full music video for Michigo, which was uploaded onto Big Bang‘s official YouTube channel.

G-Dragon lives up to his name of being a fashion icon by donning different styles of clothing and wearing different striking hairstyles. The music video features a series of fun acts, similar to Crayon. Taeyang, Se7en and Teddy also made special appearances in the music video.

The concert will be presented in four different themes. Concert organisers Running Into The Sun and Woohoo! Experience are pleased to bring one of the most highly-acclaimed K-pop solo artist, G-Dragon, to Malaysia as part of his ‘G-Dragon 2013 World Tour: One Of A Kind’ concert tour.

The leader of Korean superstars BIGBANG who put on an explosive performance in Malaysia at their one-night only concert last year, is back this time with his first-ever solo concert, to be held on 22 June 8pm, at Stadium Nasional. This will be the only outdoor concert of his tour, and Malaysian fans can look forward to an exhilarating night of high-energy performances bolstered by this unique open-air experience.

‘G-Dragon 2013 World Tour: One Of A Kind’ concert tour is G-Dragon’s second solo concert tour and first world tour, and will feature songs from his latest solo release, One of a Kind, which ranks as the top selling solo album in Korea after G-Dragon’s first solo album in 2009. Heartbreaker. One of a Kind included two chart-topping hits, Crayon and That XX, with the latter dominating the major online Korean music charts shortly after its release.

Apart from being a celebrated composer, lyricist and producer, G-Dragon is a widely-regarded fashionista, winning numerous accolades for his fashion style, and has also achieved the distinction of being the only male artist to feature on CNN’s ‘50 reasons why Seoul is the world’s greatest city’ list. Constantly proving his mettle for producing chart-topping hits, G-Dragon has won various awards for his music including the digital bonsang for One of a Kind at the recent ‘27th Golden Disk Awards’ held in Kuala Lumpur, Korea’s equivalent of the Grammy Awards.

This tour also marks the first time that a Korean solo artiste will be holding concerts in four of the Japan’s domes.

Kpop Statistics Germany reveals ranking polls result

Recently, a statistical organization about Kpop in Germany, K-Pop Statistics Germany, has created a poll in seven different categories: top 25 boy groups, top 25 girl groups, top 10 male singers, top 10 female singers, top 10 hip hop artists, top 10 indie artists, and top 10 Kpop entertainments.

About 2,065 Kpop fans from Germany participated in the polls, with 96,1% correspondents are female and 42,35% of the age range from 15 until 17. Most of the correspondents have started to listen Kpop since 2008-2011.

The result has been announced continuously from April 1 until April 5.

The first place of top 25 boy group category goes to Big Bang with a total 38.12% votes, followed by B.A.P. on the second place with 31.45% votes and Super Junior on the third with 30.99%.

For the next category, 2NE1 ranked first for top 25 girl groups category with 54.83% votes followed by Girls’ Generation with 47.73% and SISTAR with 28.35%.

Big Bang’s G-Dragon secured the first spot for the top 10 male singer category. K.Will became the second with 14.20% and JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong seized the third spot with 13.08%

The best female singer goes to Ailee with a total 41.51%, beating BoA and Hyuna on the top 10 female singers category.

Epik High saved their first spot for the best 10 hip hop artist category. The trio won against Jay Park who ranked second and G-Dragon who ranked third.

 

Nell won against Busker Busker and 10cm for the top 10 indie artists category with a total 40% votes.

The last category is top 10 Kpop entertainments and the first place goes to YG Entertainment with 68.68% votes. S.M. Entertainment ranked second while Cube Entertainment ranked third.

G-Dragon releases “MichiGO” audio

On April 2, BIGBANG member G-Dragon unleashed the audio for his latest track MichiGO through LINE mobile messenger. The track was previously unveiled through his solo showcase in Seoul on March 30 and 31. MichiGO is described to be a hip hop number with catchy electronic beats.

In order to obtain the track, fans must install the LINE phone application, purchase the ‘G-Dragon Special Edition’ sticker, and input the sticker on G-Dragon’s LINE account. MichiGO is currently available in Korea, Japan, and Thailand, but will be available internationally soon.
