A Shiny SHINee Concert Night in Singapore

A Shiny SHINee Concert Night in Singapore

Green glow sticks lit up Singapore’s stadium as SHINee leaves fans with a memorable night of performances.

About 3,500 fans filled Singapore’s Indoor Stadium last night as the SHINee World Tour II in Singapore took off.

Organised by Running Into the Sun (RITS), this marks the 9th concert in which the agency has managed. Their past events include the Super Junior Super Show 4, Kim Hyun Joong fan meet and greet, Bigbang Alive Galaxy Tour in Malaysia and the most recent SMTOWN Live World Tour III.

Concert Review: SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Singapore!

SMTOWN press conference transcript in Singapore

The boys touched down at Changi Airport late night on 7 December, but it did not deter fans from just trying to catch a brief glimpse of the stars. Many fans queued up at the arrival hall, holding various signboards to greet and welcome the stars to the little red dot in Asia.

A video teaser of members Onew, Jonghyun, Minho and Taemin being transported to space kicked off the concert with a roaring scream.

Shortly, a giant space capsule was lowered onto the stage, and the members stepped out from the capsule, like fallen angels to the Earth. It was also very apt how they used Lucifer as the first song upon their arrival to ‘Earth’.

With the largest mosh pit that ranging about 1,200 square metres, it competed with the recent SMTOWN concert held at the Marina Floating Platform just a month ago.

Like SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Singapore, SHINee put up a splendid performance. Hit songs like Lucifer, Ring Ding Dong and Sherlock won the most screams. The idols also put up a myriad of role play to give fans more to dream about – some outfits include prince charming, captives, and of course, the fallen angels to Earth.

Fans constantly threw hot screams at the idols, even more so when JongHyun performed the song Internet War with Taemin. Never mind that no one actually gets what the song even means, JongHyun, showing his naked, bronzed toned and shiny upper, is a reason enough to send the fans to a crazy high.

The performance ended with JongHyun locking sight with Taemin, and getting caught up in a little bromance midway of the song, and ended with the both of them handcuffed to each other.

The pop group also shared their happiness in having their last concert in Singapore, which sent the fans into a complete silence for a while. But they quickly said that this would be SHINee’s last concert in Singapore this year but would plan to return next year. Fans almost immediately regained their composure and started cheering for them again.

The group also took the chance to celebrate Minho and Onew’s birthday while the fans joined in to sing their birthday cheers for the two stars.

Being the group of manners as they always have portrayed themselves to be, they also took the opportunity to thank all their staff and dancers for making the performance a wonderful one. After they all took a photo, a fun and playful mini-food fight broke out. The members were having fun smearing cakes into one another’s faces.

Even though after the recent SMTOWN concert in Singapore, the performance last night did not pale in comparison, as SHINee once again proved to put up a fantastic concert with wonderful performance, where all the limelight shone on them alone. They had fun performing and the fans enjoyed themselves a whole lot. It was truly a wonderful way celebrate the end of the year.

PSY to perform in Singapore on December 1; 2NE1, BTOB and G.NA to hold their own performances on same day

Increasingly hailed by the locals as the unofficial K-pop day on December 1 in Singapore, world-known K-pop star Psy will be joining three other iconic K-pop artists, each holding their separate concerts and showcases on the same day. Ironically, they are 1 male singer, 1 female singer, 1 boy group and 1 girl group, giving a total ecstatic K-pop mix for that day.

It was announced today that Psy will be performing a free showcase at the Marina Bay Sands’ Event Plaza on this Saturday, December 1. The venue is noted to be near to The Float@Marina Bay where the recent SMTOWN concert was held on last Friday.

According to the organizers, Psy will perform the one-hour free showcase with students from the Marina Bay Sands’ designated charity, O School, a performing arts centre for youth. Marina Bay Sands has given out 4,000 tickets to the showcase via its Facebook page and within two hours, all the tickets have been snapped up despite the late notice today.

Psy became the world best well-known K-pop artist when he made history with his music video “Gangnam Style” which has registered over 805 million views and became the most-watched video of all-time on YouTube.

Sorry Bieber, the Internet is about to break, and it’s not because of you, but PSY

In other related K-pop news, rookie boyband BTOB (Born to Beat) will be performing in the Sundown Festival 2012, an all-Asian music and cultural homegrown festival , 5.30pm at Marina Promenade, near to the Singapore Flyer. Female soloist G.NA will hold an autograph session and one-hour performance for Courts Megastore Opening Celebrations, 5pm at Courts Megastore Tampines. Lastly, mega girl group 2NE1 will be having their 2NE1 New Evolution Global Tour 2012, 7pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The question is, which performance will you go?
