Wonder Girls to attend awards show without newly wedded Sunye
The Wonder Girls will be attending the 2nd Gaon K-Pop Chart Awards show without their newly wedded leader, Sunye despite rumours of the idol leaving the group.
An official from the awards show has confirmed today that the Wonder Girls will be attending the ceremony on February 13 without Sunye, who recently got married earlier this week.
JYP Entertainment has allowed the singer to take a break from work to adjust to married life, after she exchanged vows with her partner, James Park on January 26. JYP confirmed that the remaining Wonder Girls will continue with pursuing solo activities during the absence of the group’s leader.
Rumours were quick to circulate in fan communities that Sunye would be leaving the group after an announcement about Sunye’s final press conference were mis-translated.
“With her wedding ahead on the 26th, Sun will be completing her official promotions after the press conference.” JYP Entertainment announced.

JYP made the marriage announcement last November.
“After long hesitations, she brought this news to the agency and we decided to respect her decision.” The agency said.
Sunye revealed that she will be focusing on her marriage and her new family while the other Wonder Girls members will be actively acting and producing their own solo albums.

Wonder Girls’ Sunye’s last stage before marriage
The Wonder Girls’ Sunye has performed her last stage before her wedding ceremony. On the 1st of January, China Foto Press (CFP) published photos of the Wonder Girls’ special countdown performance in China, which was shown on the state broadcast CCTV on the 31st of December last year, depicting their sleek dance moves and beautiful figures.
In the photos, the Wonder Girls are dressed in shirts and hot pants of differing colours while performing enthusiastically to songs like Nobody, completely immersed in their song and dance. The audience’s eyes were on team leader Sunye, who appeared somewhat tired after stomaching a hectic schedule, as this was the last public performance for her before her marriage on the 26th of January. Sunye’s intention to take time off after her wedding to enjoy her nuptial bliss and focus on her marriage was announced last year. In the meantime, the other members will be concentrating on individual activities.

Is this the end for the Wonder Girls?
Fans are left questioning the future of the Wonder Girls after a member of the group left a message for fans.
Wonder Girls’ lead vocalist, Yenny left a message for fans following the group’s recent video chat which sparked rumours of former member Sunmi re-joining the group and leader Sun Ye leaving the group to focus on her marriage.

In an attempt to clarify the direction of the Wonder Girls’ future and in response to the public’s criticism of Sun Ye’s recent marriage announcement, Yenny posted an open letter titled “This Is Yenny” on the Wonder Girls Gallery in DC Inside.
“Some probably won′t listen no matter what I say, but what I said during the chat (in reference to the video chat), that I never told you to vote for us or come to our performances instead of working or studying, wasn′t supposed to mean that I think you′re at fault and that I′m not responsible,” she said.
The singer then clarified that “work and study are all important parts of life” and that she understood that fans couldn’t always come to the Wonder Girls’ performances or vote for them and that she has never thought “lightly” of them.
Yenny also used the opportunity to defend fellow member Sun Ye who’s recent marriage announcement caused mixed reactions.”Sun getting married doesn′t mean that she doesn′t think much of you and that she thinks lightly of Wonder Girls.” Yenny said.
She then added, “Like work, study and Wonder Girls are all important to you, to Sun and the rest of us, Wonder Girls, our fans and our lives as individuals are all important too.”
Yenny, who has been with the group since the Wonder Girls debuted in 2007 also apologised to fans who were “confused, angry and hurt”.
“We′ve known each other for six years.. I′m sad I have to write something here for such an issue but anyway I hope you all take care of yourselves and remain happy.”
After the open letter was posted, fans were confused whether the letter posted was actually posted by Yenny. Fans requested Yenny to leave a “dot” on her official Twitter account if the post really was written by her. Yenny promptly tweeted, “Here, a dot….” confirming the post was written by her.
However, some fans are still left upset. One fan wrote ”This is the end of Wonder Girls,” and “How can you betray your fans like this?” while another wrote “Yenny is working hard trying to shield Sun” and “Why did you suddenly bring Sunmi to the chat yesterday?”
Sun Ye’s wedding announcement last week has left a split in the group’s fan club. While fans have supported the wedding announcement, some fans have disapproved and left upset.
Following Sun Ye’s announcement earlier this year that she was in a relationship, a secret recording of an encounter of a fan and Sun Ye at a fan signing was uploaded.
“Do you know that you going public with your relationship has caused an inconvenience to the group?” The fan asked in an audio file that was uploaded.
Sun Ye, shocked by the question, was confused by the ‘inconvenience’ that she had caused for the group but apologised to the fan.
“I don’t think that I created an inconvenience to the members, but I do think that I hurt your feelings. I’m sorry about that.”

JYP Entertainment has confirmed today that Wonder Girls’ Sun Ye will be tying the knot with her boyfriend in 2013.
Rumours that the Wonder Girls leader will be marrying her boyfriend were confirmed today after it was confirmed her agency, JYP Entertainment. The agency revealed that Sun Ye and her newly-engaged-fiancé, who she met during volunteer work will join hands early next January on the 26th.
“After long hesitations, she brought this news to the agency and we decided to respect her decision.” The agency said.
Sun Ye also revealed that she will be focusing on her marriage and her new family while the other Wonder Girls members will be actively acting and producing their own solo albums.

Sunye publicly announced her relationship last year on Strong Heart and received mixed response from the public. In a fan signing last year, one fan criticised the singer for revealing her relationship.
