5 English-speaking Korean fashion YouTubers to know
I am not anything close to a beauty guru or fashionista, that’s why I love spending a lot of time watching videos on YouTube, from cooking, variety shows to songs, dance covers, beauty and fashion. Today, I am going to introduce five English-speaking Korean fashion and beauty YouTubers to you. They are the names you should definitely check out. I enjoy watching their videos not only because I get to learn new things from them, but also because I appreciate the cinematography and editing skills used.
Below is the list of recommended YouTubers for all the ladies out there!
Angel is a freelance make-up artist and a mother. She was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, but she is currently living in Boston with her husband (edit: she is now living in Texas) . Angel and Aiden are now expecting their second son soon. Besides her beauty and fashion videos, her husband also teaches you how to cook, and she also vlogs about her life and son on her second channel. Angel trains you how to achieve a variety of looks, such as Korean ulzzang make-up, Valentine’s Day make-up; and also the looks of your favorite Korean artists, like BoA, Jun Ji Hyun, and others.

Name: Jenn Im

A friend asked me to check her out and Jenn has quickly become my all-time favorite, with her unique fashion style. Everyone out there should know who this girl is, with more than 900k subscribers on YouTube and 600k followers on Instagram. Every time her new video appears in my subscription feed, I will stop anything I am doing to watch her first. She mainly uploads fashion videos, teaches you what to wear in her series, titled #WWJW (What Would Jenn Wear), where her followers tweet her about their dressing problems and she would give them advice. You will definitely learn some useful tips after watching her.

Don’t talk to her in Korean because she can’t speak the language. Claire was adopted when she was merely 7 months old. What actually caught my attention are her cool vibes (I adore her trademark winged eyeliner and nose studs), and also, her tattoos. She opened up about them, and explained their meaning. Other than beauty and fashion videos, and vlogs, she also teaches you cool DIY tricks, like how to turn a branch into a cool light installation for your home. And she has a cat named Bruce Lee.

Her ‘About’ section on her channel says ‘born and raised in Korea, chasing my dreams in LA’. If you love beauty and want to learn Korean as well, you are at the right place. She speaks Korean in her videos and she provides English subtitles (yay!). She teaches you how to do make-up similar to your favourite K-Pop artists’, such as Girls’ Day, HyunA, After School, SNSD, among others. I like how she shows swatches of lipsticks when she is doing a haul video, so viewers can get a better idea how the actual color will look like when applied.

She is better known as Meejmuse on YouTube, Instagram and Twitter. Meejmuse is an Australian-born Korean. She used to stay in Sydney, Australia with her husband, William, before moving back to South Korea recently. Besides working as a YouTuber, she is now also a live TV reporter for Arirang‘s Korea Today, for a segment called K-Style. If you prefer Korean cosmetic products, you should definitely check her out, as she does a number of videos on Korean make-up.
