Big Ocean, has received major attention from the influential American media outlet Rolling Stone.
On the 12th (local time), Rolling Stone published an article titled “Meet the Deaf K-Pop Group That’s Breaking Barriers” on its official website, featuring an in-depth interview that explores Big Ocean’s diverse story.

Rolling Stone introduced Big Ocean (Chanyeon, Hyeonjin, Jiseok) by stating, “Big Ocean is not your typical K-pop group. On April 20th, the group made history as the first deaf K-pop group, marking a significant milestone on South Korea’s Disability Day.”
The article delved into Big Ocean’s formation process and their journey through training. The group shared, “All of our achievements are the result of 1% talent and 99% hard work,” and further explained, “We sing in Korean Sign Language (KSL), American Sign Language (ASL), and International Sign Language (ISL) to communicate with as many Waves (their fandom) as possible.”
Finally, Rolling Stone highlighted Big Ocean’s debut mini album Follow, stating, “The album includes three singles released earlier this year—‘Light (Glow),’ ‘Blow,’ ‘Slow,’ as well as the English track ‘Flow.’ The group intentionally released the songs in this order to convey an optimistic message.”
Big Ocean explained, “‘Follow’ is an album that invites listeners to join us on a journey to find happiness, and each track carries a meaning we wanted to share. We hope people will ‘shine’ with hope, ‘blow away’ challenges, ‘slow down’ the pace, and simply ‘flow’ naturally.”
Meanwhile, Big Ocean released their first mini album, Follow, on the 12th. To promote the album, they will be holding various events in the U.S., visiting iconic landmarks in New York, including the Empire State Building, Times Square, and Central Park, where they will spend special moments with local fans. Additionally, they will make their Follow stage debut at the ‘Cool Out 2024’ event in the Cayman Islands from the 14th to 17th (local time).
