BTS, MAMAMOO, TWICE & More Winners At Day 1 Of The “34th Golden Disc Awards”
Congratulations to all the K-pop acts who took home various recognition at the first day of the 34th Golden Disc Awards!
The first weekend of 2020 is surely getting more exciting for K-pop groups and fans alike – as the highly-anticipated 34th Golden Disc Awards kicked off its ceremonies today at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.
Recognizing the best digital releases of 2019, the first part of the two-day event has recently awarded some of this year’s biggest idols.
BTS’ First Daesang for 2020
Continuously impressing everyone with their amazing feats, BTS officially took home their first prize of the brand-new year. In particular, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook bagged the “Digital Daesang (Grand Prize)”. Though they were not present at the event, the septet is set to grace the second day of the awarding ceremony, which will happen tomorrow, January 5, 2020.
Bonsang Awardees
Additionally, the boys received a Bonsang in the digital song category. Aside from their group, other artists likewise received the said award including JANNABI, MC the Max, TWICE, AKMU, SNSD’s Taeyeon, Chung Ha, BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Paul Kim, and ITZY.
MAMAMOO as the “Best Group”
Rocking the night with their charismatic presence and hip performance, MAMAMOO received the “Best Group” award. Their fearless and multi-talented maknae Hwasa was also named as the “Best Solo Artist” of the year.

Here are the other idols who won at the Day 1 of the 34th Golden Disk Awards:
- Best New Artist (Female): ITZY
- Best New Artist (Male): TXT
- Best R&B/Hip Hop: Zico
- Best Trot: Song Ga In
- Next Generation Award: AB6IX, ATEEZ, and Kim Jaehwan
- Producer’s Award: Bang Shi Hyuk (Big Hit Entertainment)
Meanwhile, fans should watch out as more idols will attend the second part of the event which will honor the physical album sales. The star-studded lineup for the 2nd day of the event includes BTS, TWICE, GOT7, SEVENTEEN, MONSTA X, and NU’EST.
