Both groups are building their presence in Japan’s music scene.

Last year, iKON took home the Best New Artist award at the annual Japan Record Awards in Tokyo. BLACKPINK, on the one hand, is set to hold its debut showcase in Budokan on July 20, followed by the release of its Japanese album on August 9.

Prior to iKON and BLACPINK’s participation, fellow YG artist BIGBANG has performed in the music festival for three consecutive years until 2016.

A-Nation is considered as one of Japan’s biggest music festival. It is a series of summer concerts held annually in Tokyo. The music festival is organized by Japan’s biggest independent label, Avex Group.
