K-Drama enthusiasts in Manila experienced an unforgettable night as superstar actress Kim Ji Won held her first fan meeting in the Philippines on August 3, 2024.

The fan meeting, titled 2024 KIM JI WON 1ST FANMEETING <BE MY ONE> IN MANILA, took place at the New Frontier Theater and was a tremendous success, leaving fans deeply, sincerely moved and the actress with a newfound affection for the country and its people.

The day began with a press conference at the Gauguin Function Room, Novotel Manila, where she met with select members of the Philippine entertainment press ahead of the show. Editors and writers from prestigious media outlets were charmed by Kim Ji Won’s beauty, wit, and gracious demeanor.

She expressed her hope for an enjoyable time with both the press and her fans.

During the Q&A session, Ji Won discussed her favorite drama, her acting process, and hopes for the fan meeting. She also revealed her interest in trying out different genres, such as thrillers, and shared her hobbies outside of acting. The actress expressed gratitude for her fans’ support and emphasized her dedication to her craft.

Reflecting on her career, she found fulfillment in being remembered for her diverse roles and described her preparation process, which includes reading scripts thoroughly and collaborating closely with directors and co-actors. She expressed interest in exploring the thriller genre and shared her current hobby of building a Lego rose set.

At the fan meeting, the actress revealed the meaning of her fanmeeting title. ” I chose ‘Be My One’, because I wanted me and the fans to be together as one. So, it’s actually the theme I want,” she said.

Divided in segments, the actress revealed her music playlist along with stories about her character preparations in Descendants of the Sun, My Liberation Notes and Queen of Tears.

In one of the segments she also shared her daily fashion style to be something comfortable.
“It’s summer in Korea, most probably short sleeves, jeans, rubber shoes, cardigans, and umbrella to protect me from the sun.”

Engaging with her adoring fans, Kim Ji Won also played a couple of games where the audience had to guess what she drew and guess original soundtracks from her dramas.

A tear-jerking moment unfolded during Kim Ji Won’s fan meeting when the Filipino audience unexpectedly sang a “Queen of Tears” soundtrack. As the actress watched a fan-made video, the crowd broke into a heartfelt rendition of “Tell Me It’s Not a Dream,” leaving her visibly surprised and emotional. The actress expressed her gratitude, calling the gesture heartwarming.

All fans received photocard sets and souvenir show cards, while those who bought Loge, Orchestra C, and Orchestra A tickets were entered into raffles for signed posters. VIP ticket holders enjoyed similar benefits, with an additional chance to win signed Polaroids.
