MetaMoon Partners with Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment at LIU for an Innovative Education Initiative Focused on Asian Representation in Live Music

The MetaMoon Music Festival, which celebrates Asian/AAPI artists and pop culture, is making a comeback with a two-day event during the last weekend of September.

On Saturday, September 28th, global stars Eric Nam and Henry Lau will headline the concert at the newly renovated Brooklyn Paramount, with emerging artists Emei and SUNKIS completing the lineup. This event will be significant for Henry Lau as it marks his solo performance debut in the United States, offering fans their first opportunity to see him live.

On Friday, September 27th, the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment at Long Island University (LIU) will join MetaMoon to host the second edition of The Summit: Rise of Asian Artists and Their Global Fandom.

This one-day conference on Asian artists and representation in the music industry will be open to students, featuring panel discussions and masterclasses by industry professionals. Reflecting MetaMoon’s commitment to highlighting Asian/AAPI talent, both on stage and behind the scenes, this summit will allow students and future music executives to network, meet their peers, and delve into the intersection of music, business, and the world’s most populous region.

We’re thrilled to bring MetaMoon back to Brooklyn for two amazing days spotlighting Asian/AAPI artists and pop culture, giving our fans the chance to see their favorite artists live,” said Grace Chen, founder of MetaMoon. “We’re thankful for our partnership with the Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment, which helps us continue our mission to amplify Asian/AAPI voices not just on stage, but in the boardroom as well, starting in the classroom.

The inaugural summit was held in February 2023 at the LIU Brooklyn campus, featuring dynamic executives from organizations like Ticketmaster, Equity Distribution, Sony Music Japan, New Balance, IW Group, Pandora, Meta, and more. The speakers covered a wide range of industry topics, including the growing influence of Asian music, brand engagement with emerging and established Asian artists, and how this rapidly-evolving genre can bridge cultural divides.

We’re excited to collaborate with MetaMoon Festival to foster academic discussions on the global impact of AAPI/Asian artists,” said Roc Nation School of Music, Sports & Entertainment Dean Tressa Cunningham. “It’s crucial for our students to gain a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of the global music industry.”

Produced in partnership with Live Nation, the festival celebrates Asian artists, culture, and fans, while embracing the diverse communities in Brooklyn and across New York City. MetaMoon’s mission to bridge cultures through the universal language of music and the exploration of Asian pop culture continues year-round with live events, The Summit, and other programming.

Registration for the Roc Nation School x MetaMoon Summit on September 27th begins on September 4th. Presale for the September 28th concert starts on May 22nd, with general sale on May 24th, exclusively on www.ticketmaster.com.
