A Week of Festivities Will Occur During “ON: Hallyu Festival” Featuring Performances By MONSTA X, SuperM, and ITZY

The ON: Hallyu Festival invites fans for a week-long celebration of Korea’s cultural industry, including an online concert with some of K-pop’s biggest names!

A flurry of events has shifted online due to the pandemic, offering fans a unique way to celebrate Korean culture. Now, the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will host a week-long event with the Korea Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy.

The ON: Hallyu Festival will run during the week of November 16 to the 23 and include trade meetings, commerce sessions, as well as a K-pop concert. 

Hallyu Week

The event celebrates the Hallyu wave, otherwise known as the increasing spread of Korean popular culture. 

The ON: Hallyu Festival will include real-time sales sessions. Buyers can purchase from 12 companies within the character, beauty, and fashion industries. Moreover, the event will feature a room in the COEX convention facility located within southern Seoul. Here, 79 businesses can meet with interested buyers located across 200 countries through digital meetings. At the same time, similar meetings will occur in the Korea Creative Content Agency’s business centers located in Jakarta and Beijing.

The festival will conclude with an online concert for K-pop fans across the world. Headlining artists set to perform include top artists MONSTA X, SuperM, ITZY, and more. Additionally, Indonesian singer-songwriter Raisia, as well as Thai boy-group Trinity, will participate in the event. Naver’s online platform, VLIVE, will stream the concert to fans from over 200 countries. Fans can apply to participate in the concert as part of its live “Video Talk” session.

Regarding the event, the Cultural Minister Park Yang-woo stated, “This event will provide comfort to people around the world who are exhausted from COVID-19 while providing helpful opportunities to local businesses through the power of Hallyu.”
