YG Entertainment’s New Generation of Hit Makers

WINNER and iKON are both products of survival reality programs launched by YG Entertainment.

Members of the two groups competed against each other as Team A and Team B in WIN: Who is Next in 2013. Seungyoon, Jinwoo, Seunghoon, Mino, and Taehyun emerged as the winning members and later debuted as WINNER.

In 2014, Team B members once again competed for a shot at debut through Mix & Match. After a series of challenges, all members of Team B, with the addition of Chanwoo, were confirmed as final lineup of YG Entertainment’s new boy group, iKON.

The two boy groups went on to forge their own music careers as a group, following their respective debuts.

WINNER released hits “Color Ring”, “Empty”, “Sentimental”, “Really Really”, among others.

iKON also came out with chart-topping songs including “My Type” and “Love Scenario”. The boy group is set to make its return with new extended play, New Kids: Continue, on August 2.
