He’s a guy who was once a member of a boy group. During his hard time back in the year 2009, he packed his bags and returned to his home in Seattle, Washington in America. After a few months of hiatus, he made his way back to South Korea in 2010 and signed a contract with his present agency, SidusHQ, making his debut again, this time as a soloist. In just a year, he was able to release a mini album, Take A Deeper Look, numerous singles and an EP titled New Breed Part 1 before concluding his first memorable year of a solo artist.

In February 2012, he unveiled his first full-length album, New Breed, which quickly topped the music charts not only in South Korea but also internationally. He then held his first solo concert New Breed Live in Seoul in March, followed by his second concert New Breed Asia Tour in Seoul in August.

This year, he released a digital single, Joah, with a music video filmed in his hometown Seattle. The song soared high on music charts. Three months after its release, he collaborated again with American producer and singer-producer, Cha Cha Malone, also a crew member of Seattle-based b-boy crew AOM (Art Of Movement) which Jay belongs to, to release the four-track EP I Like 2 Party. The EP received much attention as it rose to the top of iTunes charts in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Indonesia.

To date, he has already performed in different countries like China, Australia, Singapore, America, the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand. He also headlined the Verizon APAHM Tour in the USA, collaborated with Malaysian singer Mizz Nina, shared the stage with world stars Justin Bieber and Ne-Yo at MTV World Stage Live 2012 in Malaysia and Ne-Yo’s concert in South Korea, and joined the cast of SNL Korea in just three years since his debut as a solo artist.

With Jay’s never-ending devotion and enthusiastic passion for making music, his official fan base, Jwalkerz, is growing rapidly as time goes by. His one and only official fan club, Jay Effect, which is highly recognized by himself, aims to bring all his fans with the latest updates and to bring them closer to him with exclusives and special events.

With the fan club’s dedication in bringing fans closer to Jay, during his absence due to his busy schedule for his first ever European tour, Jay Effect is going to organize a screening event titled ‘Good times with JAY EFFECT’, targeting the 2nd and 3rd batch members of the official fan club in 6 countries: Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and Japan. This is to return the love to his fans who have been supporting him for a long time.

What is this screening event about?

The screening event is all about a gathering, a mini party and bonding time with each other within the official fan club. The time where you get to meet another you – someone who shares the same interest (supporting and love Jay). As the event title says, ‘screening event’, it will feature Jay’s behind the scene footage from 2012 to 2013, music video shooting site footage, TV show footage, SNL footage, footage of Jay’s daily routine and more. Other than that, there are many exciting activities that will be conducted throughout the screening event.

The amazing members behind Jay Effect, who call themselves TeamJP, will be setting foot in those six countries for the screening events; on 1st of September in Thailand, Bangkok, 7th of September in Jakarta, Indonesia, 14th of September in Singapore, 15th of September in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 20th of September in Melbourne, 22nd of September in Sydney,  Australia and finally the last stop: Tokyo, Japan on 28th of September.

To join this exciting event, you have to be an official fan club member of Jay Effect. If you are not a member currently, here’s the chance! Jay Effect will  soon be opening registration to recruit 3rd batch of members on 23rd of August. If you are a 2nd batch member, just fill in the registration form located on Google docs, which will soon be announced. 3rd batch members will have to fill in the same registration form as well after joining as Jay Effect’s official member.
