“StarHub Night Of Stars” Notches Impressive Mark In Singapore
Leaving a strong impression, StarHub Night of Stars fulfilled its promise of a night of glitz, glamour and entertainment.
Culminating on a high note, the inaugural StarHub Night of Stars celebrated the best of Asian entertainment on Starhub TV.
Held on 22 December 2018 at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, renowned Asian artists graced the event with their precious presence.
Korean popular actor Lee Joon Gi and Chinese actress Qin Lan emerged as the big winners of the night. They took home the 2018 StarHub Best Male and Female Asian Star Awards respectively.
Recognizing achievements in 2018, the Samsung Galaxy presented StarHub Night of Stars, which saw a total of 13 awards given to artists from China, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan.
“We are privileged to have some of Asia’s biggest celebrities join us at StarHub Night of Stars. In addition to congratulating the artists on a year of hard work, we wanted to do more for our customers by bringing them closer to their favorite celebrities,” said Mr Johan Buse, Chief of Consumer Business Group, StarHub.

2018 Starhub Night Of Stars Winners
To kick off the celebration, hosts Dennis Nieh, Lulu Huang and Kate Pang delighted the 1,980 lively crowd with a short opening skit.
Owing to the enduring success of Lady First Singapore, the 2018 StarHub Best Host Award was presented to veteran host Pauline Lan.
Extensive contributions of Taiwanese actress Chen Meifeng had not gone unnoticed as she received the 2018 StarHub Evergreen Artist Award.
2018 Starhub Night of Stars Acting Awards
For his remarkable portrayal in Lawless Lawyer, Lee Joon Gi earned the 2018 StarHub Best Male Asian Star Award. The thriller-courtroom drama scored impressive ratings in Korean cable television.
In the series, he played a gangster-turned-lawyer, who is on a mission to make the people behind his mother’s unfortunate death pay for their sins.
Meanwhile, Qin Lan, the winner of the 2018 Starhub Best Female Asian Star Award, received worldwide accolade for bringing to life the warm-hearted gentle empress thrown into the turmoil of the imperial harem in Story of Yanxi Palace.
Singaporean actor Lawrence Wong, who played lively general Hai Lan Cha, also in Story of Yanxi Palace, took home the 2018 StarHub Breakthrough Star Award.
Popular Taiwanese actor Jasper Liu received the 2018 StarHub Dazzling Star Award for his consistently captivating performances over the past year with film Take Me to the Moon and drama, My Goddess, available on StarHub TV.
Fellow Taiwanese actor Derek Chang accepted the 2018 StarHub Rising Star Award for his role as a budding designer in My Dear Boy.
Playing the role of head paramedic in Life on The Line, which is TVB’s highest rated drama of the year, Joe Ma bagged the 2018 StarHub Best TVB Artist Award.
Winning the 2018 Starhub Best TV Drama Character Award was Rebecca Zhu for her lively stuntwoman portrayal in The Stunt.
It was a stiff competition as fans got to vote for their Favorite Korean Drama Character on StarHub Facebook page.
EXO’s Kai eventually bested other hugely popular Korean actors through his role as Lee Shi Kyung in bittersweet first love youth drama, Andante.
2018 StarHub Night Of Stars Music Awardees
On to the music category, South Korean boy band A.C.E achieved the 2018 StarHub Best Newcomer Award . Taking the center stage, they intoxicated the crowd with energizing stages of “Cactus” and “Take Me Higher”.
Captivating fans with their glowing smiles, Cosmic Girls were presented with 2018 StarHub Most Charismatic Performance Award. They then wowed the crowd with their lively song and dance numbers of “Secret” and “Save Me, Save You”.
Treating the audience with his sweet voice, Jeong Se Woon performed “It’s You”, an original sound track of hit Korean drama, What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? The song achieved the 2018 StarHub Best Asian Drama OST.
Additionally, Taiwanese ballad singer Sam Lee made a special guest appearance, and presented Cosmic Girls and Jeong Sewoon with their award, before bringing the house down with his hit classics.
