Youngjae Delights Filipino Fans Through “Sugar” Mini Concert & Fansign In Manila

Filipino Ahgases experienced a sweet Saturdate with Youngjae!

Marking his first solo concert in the Philippines, GOT7’s charming member Youngjae delighted Filipino fans with a mini concert and fan sign event to remember on July 23 at the New Frontier Theater.

Presented by local event organizer, CDM Entertainment, Youngjae’s live music party, YOUNGJAE MINI CONCERT: ‘SUGAR’ IN MANILA, started at 3 PM last Saturday. 

Appearing on stage in his elegant pink suit, Youngjae kicked off the show with energetic performances of “Tasty” and “Focus.”

The well-rounded idol shared his excitement to see his Filipino fans once again after over two years since GOT7’s KEEP SPINNING tour in Manila last October 2019. “First of all thank u so much. It’s unbelievable that I’m doing this now. Please don’t think about anything and just enjoy the show,” he said.

To make the show more exciting for both the artist and the audience, several segments were prepared, including “Kwentuhan with Youngjae,” “Guess the Song Game,” and “Yes or No Quiz.”

As the first member of GOT7 to return to the Philippines and hold his solo concert, he revealed that he’d prepared well so he can go here and meet his long-awaiting Filipino fans as soon as possible. “I was sick recently. After my radio show, I go practice every day for my performances,” he added.

Two fans won a signed poster during the game segments. One won through a lucky sticker under her seat while the other fan became the final winner of the “Yes or No Quiz.”

Soon after finishing the exciting segments, he came back on stage to perform his solo tracks “VIBIN” and “SUGAR,” donning a sophisticated black-and-white ensemble.

Asked whether he would like to return again to Manila once again in the future, he responded, “I look forward to doing many things with Filipino Ahgases. I’m ready for it anytime and I really mean it. It was pretty tough to go back here due to the pandemic. I promise to go back here more often.”

Raising the excitement further, Youngjae fittingly capped off his solo mini concert by singing GOT7’s popular tracks “Nanana” and “Girls Girls Girls.” He even came down from the stage and went closer to the audience where he jumped and danced together with fans.

Later in the day, Youngjae also met fans through his ‘Sugar’ Fansign in Manila. The event offered a new and completely different experience for Filipino K-pop fans as it allowed them to personally interact with their idol. 

Select fans were given one minute to talk to Youngjae while he signed on their albums. Other fans who attended the fansign also had the chance to have a group photo with him and see him up close through a special goodbye session.

The success of the back-to-back events of Youngjae on July 23 truly showed how much Filipino Ahgases have missed him. K-pop fans are in for more treats this year as many Hallyu events are lined up in the coming months!
