This song, from The Rose’s mini album DAWN, is a heartfelt and poignant recollection of going through sleepless nights after a breakup. Being in a state where you are going through the process and really want to forget, yet still haunted by the memories shared with that person. It keeps you up at night. And while you try so hard to rationalize things, you recognize that you also had a part in the relationship’s downfall. That there is nothing you can do but let go and move on.
“She’s in the Rain” (2018)
The band takes you to a dark place on this track. It describes the feeling of being lost, lonely and overwhelmed by a lot of things happening around. The lyrics depict a person who is hurting but trying their best to hide away that pain. It perfectly uses the rain to set up the kind of emotion the song wants to express. When you are soaked the tears are not visible because it goes with rain as it falls.
However, despite being drenched and thinking of being alone, the song also offers hope. The shift in the lyrics from “She’s in the rain” to “We are in the rain” shows a connection and that the burden is a lot less heavy if you share it with someone else. Even if we are experiencing the harshest of storms, eventually it will pass and it is easy to go through it with someone who truly understands.

Self-acceptance and celebrating your individuality is what “You’re Beautiful” is all about. Having someone recognize your beauty within and not be afraid of telling you can truly impact a person. In this day and age, people often seek validation from others but that comes with such “high standards”. And if the so-called standards are not met, it leaves people bereft.
They want us to realize that it only takes one person or a few people, with whom we have connected deeply or shared a strong bond, to be the ones who can see how beautiful we can truly be. Loving yourself and their words or affirmation are what truly matter.
“Black Rose” (2020)
Released at the time of the pandemic, “Black Rose” is not just a song dedicated to fans. It also reflects how the band found strength in facing what was probably the most challenging time of their music career. Through this song, they showed their appreciation for their continuous and unwavering support. They sing of hope and resilience in the face of challenges and uncertainties.
