Filipino K-drama fans were in for a treat as South Korean heartthrob Jang Ki Yong appeared at the “Beautiful Day” fan meeting in Manila.

The 32-year-old actor, known for his captivating roles in “Now, We Are Breaking Up”, “My Roommate is a Gumiho”, and “Search: WWW”, delighted fans at Samsung Hall, SM Aura in Taguig City on September 28. Presented by VIU Philippines, the event brought Oppa Ki Yong up close with his Filipino supporters, and saved the best for last for his 2024 Asian Tour, creating an unforgettable night brimming with energy and adoration.

Jang Ki-Yong kicked off his highly anticipated fan meeting by reminiscing about his last visit to Manila on November 17, 2019. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to reconnect with his Filipino fans after five long years. In a lighthearted moment, he revealed that his youthful glow comes from using two sheet masks—a fun skincare tip that elicited smiles from the audience.

He fondly recalled his role in “My Roommate is a Gumiho,” where he starred alongside Hyeri. When asked about his favorite scenes, he highlighted the romantic moments that resonated with viewers, bringing a sense of nostalgia to the crowd.

Jang also opened up about his military enlistment, sharing how his family and loved ones gathered to support him on that important day. He reminisced about a touching photoshoot that captured the bittersweet moment before he joined the service. While enlisted, Jang had the chance to perform in the musical “A Song of Meissa,” which he described as a deeply rewarding experience that allowed him to remain connected to his passion for acting and singing. He conveyed his heartfelt appreciation for being part of such a prestigious production during his time in the military.

To unwind after his service, Jang took a solo trip to Hawaii, where he challenged himself by running a marathon—an experience he described as unique and fulfilling.

They not only took Polaroid pictures with him but also reenacted iconic scenes from his dramas. Another crowd favorite was the group jump rope, where Jang fostered a sense of teamwork and enthusiasm among the fans.

After the games, Jang thoughtfully gifted each participant a rose, creating a warm and memorable moment. He also transformed the traditional hi-bye session into a hi-touch experience, allowing fans to connect with him on a more personal level as they exchanged smiles and heartfelt interactions.
