[CONCERT RECAP] Taeyeon Showcases Vocal Prowess During “The Odd of Love” In Manila
It was an emotional night for PH SONEs as pink lights and endless cheers filled the venue for the one and only KIM TAEYEON!
Filipino SONEs were completely stunned by the overflowing elegance of KIM TAEYEON during her The Odd of Love in Manila. Organized by DNM Entertainment, the Manila stop for her solo concert tour happened on July 30, 2023, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Three months earlier, TAEYEON came to Manila for a joint concert event. During her previous visit, she made a promise that she will come back as soon as possible, and the queen made it come true.
KIM TAEYEON The Odd Of Love in Manila Concert Highlights
The live band opened the show with their exhilarating sound. TAEYEON looked like a goddess ascending onstage with her stunning black gown. She kicked off the concert with “INVU,” “Can’t Control Myself,” “Some Nights,” and “Set Myself On Fire.”

A warm welcome—that’s how TAEYEON described how she felt when she started to sing for her PH SONEs. She moved closer through the extended stage to introduce herself, receiving the loudest cheers from excited fans.
Despite the gloomy weather, thousands of fans gathered to watch her live. The well-loved female soloist made sure that everyone was fine as she was worried about how fans could arrive at the venue since it has been raining so hard. “I’m thankful that you guys are here despite the bad weather.”
Applauding fans’ efforts
TAEYEON also prepared a few Tagalog phrases such as “Mahal ko kayo,” “Salamat,” and “Beshie,” which was PH SONE’s official nickname for her. She also noticed some fans wearing a dinosaur costume. “There are a lot of you wearing a banana costume. So cute!”
On the other hand, TAEYEON commented how it has been a long time since she had a standing crowd. The Nation’s Girl Group leader walked towards the VIP section, making sure they are having fun.
Revealing her genuine thoughts about having a solo concert
During one of her ments, the vocal queen shared her thoughts about how she felt lonely during her concert rehearsal. “There was no one in front of me, but as soon as the concert started, I felt happy because you guys are here now.”

TAEYEON also mentioned how seeing fans enjoying her stages provided her with energy and strength. “I love how expressive PH SONEs are!”
Gracing Manila with her elegance
It is no exaggeration to say that TAEYEON is an all-rounder. She showed off her unrivaled skills as she danced beautifully while pulling off those high notes at the same time. She also performed “Siren,” “Cold As Hell,” “Toddler,” “Weekend,” “No Love Again,” and “You Better Not.”

One of the best parts of the show is when PH SONEs witnessed the iconic “Fine” acapella, wherein she conquered the whole venue with her mellifluous voice. The live band and backup dancers also made her stages even more wonderful. It was also heartwarming how there was a moment when the band members and backup dancers were introduced individually.
Spending a memorable night with PH SONEs
During the last part of the show, PH SONEs attempted to sing a part of “Rain” as part of the fan project. TAEYEON returned onstage and complimented the fans on the fact that they chose to sing along to the hardest part of the song. She instructed everyone to sing with her, creating an impromptu duet with the queen.

Moreover, TAEYEON was surprised by the purple cloths during the stage for “Stress.” She also saw the banners prepared by fans, picking up one for her photo session with them. She then promised that she will include the Philippines when she has the opportunity to have a tour again in the future.

Officially ending the show, TAEYEON extended her sincerest gratitude to the fans, the live band, the backup dancers, and the production team for making the concert happen. She continued to bow until the lights went off, leaving PH SONEs with another anticipation of when TAEYEON will return to bless us with her excellence.
