EXO’s Chanyeol Coolly Talks About His Goals And Closeness With Groupmates In Refreshing Pictorial For High Cut Magazine
EXO’s Chanyeol is the cool cover boy for High Cut Magazine’s April 2020 issue!
EXO’s Chanyeol dazzles with his refreshing energy displayed on the two-version cover of the fashion magazine High Cut for their April 2020 issue!
Bringing the EXO member to Bali for the first time last January for this photoshoot, High Cut made sure to focus on Chanyeol’s captivating charms and pure, gorgeous visuals as their latest issue’s cover boy.
With the blue sea and sky in the background, Seminyak’s breathtaking beach proved to be perfect in showcasing the free-spirited travel concept applied to the pictorial.
The image of Chanyeol basking in Bali’s warm sunshine was made even more dazzling by the way he glistened with the calm sea waves behind.
Moreover, the photoshoot amplified a cool yet mysterious atmosphere as it also took on an indoor setting at the Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach. Putting on a calm and serene mood, it transformed itself into a different vibe from the outdoors.
In the interview that came along with the photoshoot, High Cut noted that it has been nine years since EXO was formed in 2011—a year prior to their official debut.
“Now, we know each other’s thoughts just by looking into their eyes—or even without looking into each other’s eyes. Actually, I don’t feel like it’s been a long time since we debuted or we’ve been trainees. That’s how much we’ve been working and been together as a group unceasingly,” Chanyeol shared.
“Since we are continuing to do things without a break this year, I think the coming time will pass the same way as before too,” he added.
The multi-talented singer-rapper-songwriter-producer also said, “What I’m striving for, both as an individual and as EXO, is to continue being a group and person that fits the term “cool”. I always want to be cool, even as time passes.”
Aside from his activities with the group, Chanyeol is also gradually unraveling his own world of music through his solo activities which includes the sub-unit EXO-SC with Sehun as well as participation in OSTs for hit dramas like Goblin and Romantic Doctor, Teacher Kim 2.
When asked about the difference between EXO’s music and Chanyeol’s music, he said, “EXO’s music shines the most when we work and perform together as a team on stage. In music that I get to include my opinions in, I would like to capture the emotions I felt at the moment, such as experiences or thoughts.”
Aspirations and Goals
When asked about the image that he wants to show in the future, he said, “What I admire the most when I see other great artists is “consistency”—the fact that their interest in music and their world has not changed in the course of time. I also want to continue improving and improving to reach a certain area and protect that without losing it. I think that’s the way I want to go.”
“There’s still so much to be done. There are so many things I want to do that I think I’ve barely taken a step, and if I’m greedy, the goal is to be at the top there. I hope there are many opportunities to show the world all that I want to do, and I hope I don’t lose this heart, either,” the hardworking idol shared.
Meanwhile, the full pictorial and interview featuring EXO’s Chanyeol will be available in High Cut magazine’s April 2020 issue. As a sweet treat in addition to these, 23 snapshots that the multi-talented singer-rapper personally took on his film camera will also be included in the magazine.
