[FAN MEETING RECAP] Taecyeon Promises To Return With 2PM
2PM’s Taecyeon returns to Manila for a solo fan meet that will remain in every Filipino fan’s memory as a special night.
After about a decade, 2PM‘s TAECYEON greets his Filipino fans for the 2023 OK TAECYEON Asia Fan Meeting SpecialTY in Manila. Organized by Pulp Live World, the much-anticipated event happened on September 23, at the New Frontier Theater.
It was an absolute dream come true. Every 2nd generation fan knows how influential as an idol member and celebrity OK TAECYEON is. Ever since his debut with the JYP Entertainment boy group in 2008, he has been gracing both the musical stage and acting scene with his unrivaled charisma and talent.
Now, he has returned to the Philippines to satisfy PH Hottest and OKtizen’s longing. And he has not only presented wonderful stages but also left a promise that made everyone’s hearts warm.
OK TAECYEON SpecialTY in Manila Highlights
A day prior to the fan meeting, TAECYEON met members of the press and a few lucky fans during a media conference. One of the memorable scenes during the media conference was when he learned the word “borta,” which is a slang term for a muscular man.
After opening the night with performances of 2PM’s “Magic” and “Anyway,” the 34-year-old entertainer introduced himself as “borta Taecyeon,” earning loud cheers and laughter from the fans. He then displayed his irresistible charm as he gifted the fans with 10 different heart poses.
Hosted by Kring Kim, TAECYEON sent his appreciation to everyone who attended the fan meet despite the gloomy weather. “I am very grateful for you guys. It’s raining outside but thank you for spending this night with me.”
OK TAECYEON reveals behind-the-scenes from his previous works
TAECYEON participated in the first segment, “SpecialTY – TYMI TYTIME.” He shared some TMI and answered trivia about himself under the categories Heartbeat, Taecyeon, and 2PM.
The charismatic idol-actor also shared that he first drank coffee in his late 20s. His beverage preference was hot chocolate but now that he is drinking coffee, he revealed he like hot over iced Americano.
Moreover, TAECYEON explained the meaning behind the title of his fan meeting, SpecialTY. He jokingly admitted that there wasn’t any special meaning behind it and that he just wanted to include his initials in the title. But immediately abandoned the comical character and seriously responded that the fan meeting was meant to create a special memory with his fans.
OK TAECYEON prepares special gifts for fans
After the talk segment, a board filled with post-it was sent onstage. TAECYEON went above and beyond reading each message from Filipino fans, fulfilling a few wishes such as a hug, morning call, selca, and more.
Specifically, TAECYEON went down onstage to give lucky fans the warmest hugs. He even personally delivered the personalized tumbler and coffee made by himself. He even performed the hit OPM song “Forevermore” by Side A, making the night even more heartwarming.
A short trip down memory lane with 2PM’s TAECYEON
It is no exaggeration to say that 2PM has made history and is still actively proving themselves worthy of all accolades. As the group’s rapper, TAECYEON was in charge of mostly the hooks and highlights of the songs, boasting his deep attractive voice.
However, he demonstrated his all-rounder skills as he performed 2PM songs all by himself. This included “Champagne,” “Jump,” as well as his solo track “Toc Toc Toc.”
Of course, TAECYEON had to satisfy every 2nd generation fans with an energetic performance of “Hands Up.” Everyone stood up from their seats, not minding whether they are properly recording with their phones as they all wanted to cherish the moment.
TAECYEON then bid farewell, leaving a promise that he will return with the other members of 2PM. No matter how long, Filipino Hottest will patiently wait for their six beastly idols.
Meanwhile, the 2023 OK TAECYEON Asia Fan Meeting SpecialTY in Manila was hosted at the New Frontier Theater on September 23, 2023. TAECYEON will continue his Asia fan meeting tour with stops in Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Jakarta.
