June 2019 Korean Drama Releases: “Arthdal Chronicles”, “Partners For Justice 2”, “Chief Of Staff” & More
Veteran and popular actors are set to make their small screen comebacks in the roster of June 2019 Korean Dramas.
Joining the existing lineup which is predominantly leaning on romance genre, exciting additions to 2019 Korean dramas of thrilling premise begin its bid in the first two weeks of June.
Furthermore, three new dramas will star acclaimed seasoned actors Jang Dong Gun, Lee Jung Jae and Jung Jae Young. Notably, sought-after actor Song Joong Ki will also mark his drama comeback since Descendants of the Sun.

Arthdal Chronicles (tvN/Netflix)
As soon as the month of June breaks, much-awaited series Arthdal Chronicles makes its premiere. Depicting the birth of civilization and nations in the age of antiquity, Arthdal Chronicles traipses on stories of mythical heroes. Moreover, it traces the struggles, unity, and love of people living in a virtual land called Arth.
Equally matching the stellar cast, the creative team of Arthdal Chronicles boasts acclaimed director Kim Won-seok. His impressive portfolio includes My Mister, Signal, and Misaeng to name a few. Award-winning writers Kim Young-hyun and Park Sang-yeon of iconic historical dramas Deep Rooted Tree, Six Flying Dragons and Queen Seondeok, pen the series.
Arthdal Chronicles will begin its journey on June the 1st.
Partners for Justice 2 (MBC)
Partners for Justice 2 depicts a team of prosecutors, detectives and forensic science experts solving murder cases. Analyzing information retrieved through autopsy reports, police investigations and keen deductions is their convening point. Garnering high viewership ratings and accolades for its stellar cast and polished story, the series is the first seasonal drama of MBC.
Partners for Justice 2 takes the Monday-Tuesday slot for MBC starting June 3.
Perfume takes the story of a middle-aged woman who devoted her life to her family. Soon, her family is destroyed enraging her in the process. Stumbling upon a mysterious perfume, her appearance changes into her younger self.
Shin Sung Rok, Go Won Hee and Kim Min Gyu are all confirmed to star in the drama. Shin Hye Jung also recently joined the cast.
Perfume commences its broadcast on June 3 via KBS2.
Search: WWW depicts the stories of three ambitious career women who are working at the top of leading portal sites in the IT industry. Paved with wins and losses, their road to success takes a new turn when love comes along the way. The drama describes modern love in a realistic way, which will definitely strike a chord in audience’s heart.
The drama vividly displays the lives of Korean female high-fliers who live in the modern world. The three “iron ladies”, Bae Ta-mi (Im Soo-jung), Cha Hyun (Lee Da-hee) and Song Ka-kyung (Jeong Hae-jin), are well-equipped in every way – pretty and smart, yet they are still single due to their career-oriented lifestyle.

Joseon Survival (TV CHOSUN)
Joseon Survival (literal title) is about the friendship between a man from the present times and a renowned thief from the Joseon period.
Kang Ji Hwan (Feel Good to Die, Children of a Lesser God) plays Han Jung Rok, a former athlete and member of the national archery team. He lives a poor life and currently works as a courier. He will transport back in time and will have a fateful encounter with Im Kkeok Jeong. Together, they will fight for survival and risk their lives for the people they love.
PD Jang Yong Woo (If Tomorrow Comes, D-Day) directs and writer Kim Sol Ji (Syndrome) pens the script.
Joseon Survival will have its first broadcast on June 8.
Chief of Staff (jTBC)
Chief of Staff explores the dangerous and complex world of politics. The story focuses in Jang Tae Joon’s (Lee Jung Jae) struggle for survival, as the senior aide gets closer to the highest political seat.
Hyping up the excitement of fans is Lee Jung Jae’s return to television after 10 years. The actor, who has been busy with film projects, last worked on TV series Triple in 2009. Portraying the role of Jang Tae Joon, his character sketch is a senior assistant to a government official. Adding to his police background is his ability to make things possible through his sound judgment and vigorous fighting spirit.
Matching the stellar hero is the equally amazing Shin Min Ah who will deviate from the last charming and light roles she has starred in. Taking the role of young politician Kang Sun Young, Shin Min Ah will show her fiercer side as she embodies the representative spokesperson of her political party.
Backing up the production are the showrunners who worked on Miss Hammurabi, The Slave Hunters, K2 and Life on Mars. The new drama will premiere via jTBC on June 14.
