Jung Yong Hwa Is So Popular In China That Weibo Celebrates His Birthday
Getting a huge social media site to celebrate your birthday? Why not? Jung Yong Hwa just did it.
Multi-talented idol Jung Yong Hwa’s birthday falls on June 22. This year, he received gifts not only from fans, but also from Weibo, one of the biggest social media sites in China. Dubbed as the Chinese equivalent of Facebook and Twitter, Weibo surprised the CNBLUE leader by hosting a month of celebration, lined up with events to celebrate his birthday.
On June 6, Weibo launched an online event, titled ‘My Chinese Student Jung Yong Hwa’. Users are able to grab the opportunity to teach Chinese language and culture to Jung Yong Hwa. During the birthday campaign, fans can also use a special Jung Yong Hwa’s online sticker, which is personally designed by the singer, to decorate their photos on Weibo itself.
The Chinese social networking site said that, “Weibo has organized the event because Jung has delivered positive energy to many people.” It added, “We highly appreciate Jung’s outstanding talents in various fields, including music and acting.”
Jung Yong Hwa is currently filming a Chinese movie, titled ‘Emperors Cook Up A Storm’. His acting role is a chef that works in a Michelin-starred restaurant.
