The Plot Sketch
What would you do if your school’s extracurricular activity was mandatory military service amid a real war? A class of senior high school students is turned into a platoon of soldiers to fight against unknown alien objects.
Sci-fi aficionados will be thrilled to catch the anticipated Duty After School, a dystopian drama about high school students who were tasked to join the world’s first war against extraterrestrial forces.
Putting aside their stationery for weapons, the students bravely put up a fight against the invasion of bizarre creatures.
The Characters
Shin Hyun Soo takes on the role of platoon commander Lee Chun-ho, who values military law and is unyielding towards students but is warm inside. Talented actress Im Se Mi aims for another notable role as Park Eun-young, a warm-hearted homeroom teacher who prioritizes the safety of students.
Reliable character actor Lee Soon Won plays the role of Sergeant Kim Won-bin, Hyun-soo’s faithful sidekick.
Rounding up the main cast are rookie actors Kim Ki Hae, Choi Moon Hee, Kim Su Gyum, Lee Yeon, Kwon Eun Bin, Moon Sang Min, and Woo Min Gyu.
The Creative Team
Helming the production is Director Sung Yong Il of Class of Lies and Dr. Frost fame. Adapting the drama screenplay is writer Yoon Soo.
Where To Watch Duty After School?
The series premieres on TVING on March 31.
It will be streamed on tvN Asia. Part 1 premieres with two episodes on April 1 at 9.15 pm. Same time hereafter episodes 3 and 4 air on April 2 and episodes 3 and 4 air on April 3.
