K-Drama Quick Preview: “Not Others” Goals To Present Lively Mother and Daughter Relationship

A quirky mother-daughter role reversal is featured in Not Others!

Ahead of the premiere on July 17, here’s what to expect in Not Others.

The Story Sketch

Not Others is a K-mother-daughter sympathy comic drama featuring the cohabitation story of an immature mother and her cool daughter.

Anticipated to bring warmth to the viewers, the series stars Jeon Hye Jin, Choi Sooyoung, Ahn Jae Wook and Park Sung Hoon.

Even though they fight as if they will never see each other again, the relationship between the two who live as their only family and guardians are expected to be a viewing point that cannot be missed in Not Others.

The Characters

Jeon Hye Jin who portrays a single mother with a 29-year-old daughter, but is still pretty and energetic, works as a physical therapist, Eun-mi. She is outspoken and cheerful which Jeon Hye Jin characterized on point by showing her cool and refreshing acting.

Choi Sooyoung impresses with her character digestibility and takes a new role as Jin-hee, the patrol team leader of a police unit, who urgently needs to crack down on her immature mother rather than work on police cases. She takes on the role of guardian, butler, and husband or lover of her immature mother, Eun-mi. Sooyoung meticulously expresses the love and hate Jin-hee feels for her mother, winning her admiration.

Ahn Jae Wook takes on the role of Jin-hong, an ENT specialist who pursues a minimalist life and a mysterious man who suddenly appears in front of Eun-mi one day.

Lastly, the role of Jaewon, the director of the Namchon police force, whose life changes upon meeting Jin-hee is played by Park Sung Hoon who always brings out the best in the characters he portrayed thus far.


The Creative Team

Steering the production is director Lee Min-Woo of God’s Quiz 4 and Wedding Scheme fame. Penning the script is Min Sun-Ae based on Kakao webtoon written by Jung Young-rong.

Not Others is scheduled to be released for the first time on Genie TV, Genie TV Mobile, and ENA channels on July 17 as a follow-up to Lies Hidden in My Garden.
