Lee Seung Gi: “My Best Talent Is Doing My Best”
What a role model Lee Seung Gi is.
At the age of 17, South Korean singer-actor Lee Seung Gi was already on stage, performing his debut song “Because You’re My Girl” from his first album The Dream of a Moth. In 2004, his debut year, Lee won the Best Newcomer Award in various award ceremonies.
Still, the 31-year-old actor, who celebrated his 14th debut anniversary this year, continues to feel heavy pressure reminiscent of his debut year.
“The weight of the crown, which has come under heavy pressure during my debut, is still going on,” he said in the accompanying interview of his photo shoot for the Fall/Winter issue of L’Officiel Hommes YK Edition. which he will be featured in two covers.
Despite the pressure, the singer-actor has forged a successful career in singing, acting, and even entertainment shows — a triple-threat entertainer. In the 14 years he cultivated in the industry, he has established credibility and likability, earning him the nickname, “Nation’s Little Brother”.
The secret behind such success can only be Lee Seung Gi’s hard work which is evident in his filmography, variety shows, and discography. He does not take rest, not even in the army.
“My best talent is doing my best,” the singer-actor said. As soon as he was discharged from his military service, he went back to work, leading tvN’s A Korean Odyssey opposite Oh Yeon Seo and joining the cast of Master in the House. He went on to host Mnet’s Produce 48.
At present, he is busy filming SBS’ Vagabond with Bae Suzy which is set to air next year.
Still, Lee Seung Gi remains humble. “I thank God for giving me the concentration to take one step further and not be exhausted,” he said.
The singer-actor’s L’officiel Hommes covers will be unveiled on October 1.
