Shownu, Wonho, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon, Joohoney, and I.M are “fighters” indeed – and this time around, they will be fighting for world peace. Officially announced on September 21, the septet has been appointed as the ambassadors of the newly-launched campaign for pushing Global Goal 16.

Putting world peace at its core, Global Goal 16 aims to promote enjoying “a peaceful life within an inclusive society built upon justice, accountability, fair institutions, and sustainable development” for everyone.

Named Together Band, the campaign’s purpose is to unite people as a global community in sharing a commitment to all of the UN’s global goals. “Together, we can build our world upon compassion and a strong moral compass,” the campaign highlights heavily.

MONSTA X’s Reasons For Supporting The Movement

“I believe in reducing violence everywhere,” Kihyun said in the first promotional video they released on September 21, where they talked about their personal reasons for supporting Global Goal 16. “I believe in strengthening every country so they are able to combat terrorism and crime,” I.M stated regarding their campaign as well.

“I believe in protecting children all over the world from trafficking,” Minhyuk also shared, while Joohoney cited, “I believe in promoting laws that don’t discriminate”.

“The #TOGETHERBAND campaign is so important because it’s about bringing people together. Only if the world works as one, we can achieve the Goal,” I.M concluded as well, noting how much of a difference it will make if people unite to push for a better world together.

Global Goal 16 is among the seventeen sustainability goals listed by the United Nations, including those that promote fighting inequality, ending poverty, and stopping climate change.

To show support for the group’s cause, fans may buy a band from UBS that will serve as their symbol of supporting their certain goal – one for themselves, and one that they can share to pass on to others.
