Song Kang Spends Sweet Night With PH Songpyeons At His “Deoproce Fun Meet”

Song Kang finally got the chance to meet the excited PH Songpyeons for a truly unforgettable evening on March 5 at Deoproce Fun Meet In Manila.

Charming and inspirational, Song Kang treated his fans to truly creative fan stages that showcased his sweet and creative sides.

To warm up the eagerly anticipating crowd, host Sam Oh treated the audience with two Song Kang- related games. The fans excitedly joined the games and won based on their knowledge of all things Song Kang.

Immediately after the cheers for the games’ winners died down, P-Pop stars G22 and VZON took the stage for electrifying dance numbers that got the crowd screaming and dancing along to the infectious beat. Truly a Pinoy-pride moment as the two groups showcased their special talents and brought the house down with their dance numbers.

After their energetic numbers, finally, the man of the hour himself walked up the stage, much to the delight of the entire coliseum. The noise was deafening as fans screamed to their hearts’ content at everything Song Kang did onstage. One sweet moment, in particular, was when he picked up his water bottle and took a sip, and the fans went wild and screamed. The actor chuckled at the fans’ adoration for him.

Kang Close and Personal

Sam Oh wasted no time in getting Song settled for the first part of the evening, wherein she asked the handsome actor questions that most fans were eager to know about him.

One of his most challenging roles, he said with a shy smile, was his role as Cha Hyun Soo in Sweet Home. Since this was not something ordinary, it was a challenge for him. Coincidentally, the crowd, later on, voiced out their enthusiasm for Sweet Home 2.

One fact that most fans know about Song is that the movie Titanic inspired the then-20-year-old young man to try his hand out at acting. And 6 years later, fans can attest that he has found the right career path as he proves to be as charming and lovable as ever.

In fact, one of the roles Song expressed he’d like to portray next is a role of a happier man, something that’s totally opposite of his role in Sweet Home.  Whatever his roles would be though, Songpyeons would definitely support and cheer on the handsome star.

Next, Song expressed his gratitude to Netflix as he has been known to be ‘the Son of Netflix’, after a slew of his Netflix starrers has all been big hits. And to show his dedication to his craft, Song continued to explain that he is always very careful with his skincare. Thanks to Deoproce, he focuses on cleansing his face after a long day of wearing makeup for work and making sure that his skin is well-hydrated.

Much to the delight of his fans, Song regaled the audience with a short dance of Hype Boy, where the crowd went absolutely wild. As he stood up, Oh noted his trim physique and Song explained that he does weight training religiously and has a consistent diet of chicken breast and lean beef. He also sweetly charmed the audience by saying he can’t live without exercise and his Songpyeons.

Kang and Get it

A sweet segment for Song is reading through the notes from the message board from all his fans and Song went through a few chosen ones.

He expressed delight and gratitude to all the thoughtful fans for their encouraging words, stating that he will take all the notes home with him, and when he faces difficulties and struggles, these messages uplift and encourage him to strive harder.

He Kang Do It

Undoubtedly one of the best segments was when Song gamely participated in 5 challenges for his Songpyeons. The lucky audience was treated to a very sweet good morning message from Song Kang. Next, the audience literally melted under a 10-second gaze from Song as he stared straight at the camera and spoke with love for his Songpyeons in his eyes.

As Song is also a fantastic model, the next challenge was easy for him as he was asked to do 5 cute poses for the camera. As Oh said, it was truly adorable overload.

Song’s acting skills were showcased as he was then asked to act out his famous lines from cult favorites Love Alarm and Nevertheless. Songpyeons were transported back to the emotional scenes of the dramas as the iconic lines were uttered by the handsome man who portrayed both Hwang Sun Oh (Love Alarm) and Park Jae On (Nevertheless).

One lucky fan got to keep Song’s signed Polaroid, but only after she had to strut her stuff and win the dance contest. But seeing Song’s sweet smile made it certainly worth it.

The Kang-munication Tutorial

Up next, more lucky fans got to teach Song Filipino phrases like “magandang umaga”, “mahal kita”, “gusto ko bumalik” and “masaya akong makita ka”.

Truly the phrases came straight out of the hearts of Song and his beloved Songpyeons and it was a delight to hear Song say other words like “bongga”, “ganda” and “pogi”, which he learned earlier during his press conference.

Song also narrated several video montages featuring himself as a young boy and student. He cutely described how playful and naughty he was as a kid, but later on, Sam said he was more endearing.

He shared stories of how he would mix up all the toothpaste in his home, which left his family with no toothpaste at all. He also sheepishly shared how he flooded his childhood home because he wanted to create his own water park.

That cute and bright boy soon grew into a charming and enigmatic young man. In the next set of videos, Song’s vibrant physique was showcased in his past pictorials, ending it with his commercial with Deopronce. The fans were delighted to see his sweet smile and alluring gaze.

But these were nothing compared to the Navillera video that was shown next. Song was apparently moved by the video that he promptly stood up and did ballet turns, which surprised and delighted Oh and the rest of his fans.

Kang and Wear It

Song Kang’s creative side shone through in this next segment as he concentrated on creating a unique and very adorable t-shirt design for a lucky fan.

Another energetic dance contest ensued as eager fans danced their hearts out to be able to win a one-of-a-kind shirt designed by none other than Song Kang.

Kang I Call You?

Fans raced to be the first to call the numbers flashed on the screens onstage and get the chance to personally ask Song questions. Song advised his fans to express their emotions well, saying thank you and sorry freely and often, not holding back on their feelings.

He also encouraged Songpyeons to be adventurous and turn their dreams into reality. Much like his co-star Sim Deok Chool in Navillera, Song motivated his fans that it’s never too late to try out things that you like.

Song Kang’s Love For PH Songpyeons

Rounding up this memorable evening is the ending message for Song from the PH Songpyeons, which brought tears to Song’s eyes. He explained that in the midst of filming his upcoming drama, Song graciously accepted Deoproce’s invitation to grace the stage for his Songpyeons, even if it was actually his day off.

Aside from the sweet video, PH Songpyeons gifted the actor with a cake to celebrate his 6^th anniversary as an actor. A burst of confetti soon filled the air, and the fans were tickled because the first thing that Song was concerned about was the cake. This was truly a moment that warmed PH Songpyeons’ hearts as it showed how appreciative the actor was.

As the evening ended with the actor gamely posing for photos with the entire coliseum, fans filed out, hearts full of joy from an evening well spent with the Sweet Song Kang.
