BLACKPINK’s Jennie Makes Historic Record As “Solo” Smashes 300 Million YouTube Views

Jennie of South Korean girl group BLACKPINK has made a historic record with her hit single “SOLO.”

On May 14, Jennie’s music video for her first solo song “SOLO” has surpassed the 300-million mark on YouTube. Notably, she is the first ever female soloist to garner the said massive amount of YouTube views.  She was able to achieve the milestone in just over six months after its release on November 12 last year.

As the first member from the K-Pop quartet to release a single, the beautiful and talented idol definitely impressed everyone as she showed off her charisma as a performer. Not just on stage, she also proved her power in the worldwide music scene. In 2018, she was able to secure top spots in domestic and international charts soon after dropping her debut track.

To congratulate the idol’s YouTube record, her agency, YG Entertainment shared a special poster across social media.

Jennie, likewise, took to Instagram to post several photos to celebrate her track’s impressive feat.

World Tour And Feats

Aside from Jennie’s music video for “SOLO,” six other tracks from her group have also exceeded 300 million YouTube views. The songs of BLACKPINK that reached the incredible milestone are “BOOMBAYAH,” “As If It’s Your Last,” “DDU-DU-DDU-DU,” Playing With Fire,” and their latest track “Kill This Love.”

In addition, earlier this week, the girls’ 2018 record-breaking hit “DDU-DU-DDU-DU” became the first ever music video in the K-Pop scene to surpass 800 million views on YouTube.

Meanwhile, the femme fatale artists are currently busy preparing for the European leg of their IN YOUR AREA World Tour.

Embarking on a six-city tour, the group will first meet fans at AFAS Live in Amsterdam on May 18. They will then grace Manchester Arena’s stage on May 21, followed by a show at the London SSE Arena the day after. Moreover, the girls will hype fans at Berlin’s Max-Schmeling-Halle on May 24, before wrapping up their Europe tour on May 28 at Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona.
