BTS’ “Butter” Joins Spotify’s Billions Club

Worldwide phenomenal K-pop boy group BTS has reached the one-million mark on Spotify with their record-breaking English single “Butter.”

BTS’ “Butter” became their second track to join Spotify’s Billions Club. Last year, the septet became the first-ever Korean artist to achieve the incredible milestone when their 2020 masterpiece “Dynamite” exceeded one billion streams.

On October 13, Spotify made the official announcement, welcoming BTS’ “Butter” into its Billions Club. 

Back on May 21, 2021, at 1 PM KST, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook brought fans to a smooth era by releasing their English digital single “Butter.” The music video for “Butter” is full of various things to see, from group dances that show tight breathing among the members, unit choreography focusing on cool charm, and each member’s unique solo dance in the background of the elevator.

Notably, it took them less than a year and five months to hit 1 billion streams with “Butter.”

Aside from this Spotify record, “Butter” was named Variety’s 2021 Record of the Year and entered the Top 10 of IFPI’s 2021 Global Digital Single chart at the No.4 spot. Currently, its music video already surpassed  818 million views.
