BTS’ “DNA” Becomes 1st K-Pop Boy Group MV To Smash 700 Million YouTube Views
BTS really never ceases to amaze everyone as they unsurprisingly add another achievement to their wide list of feats!
Fresh from their successful worldwide release for the album Map of the Soul: Persona, the K-Pop sensation BTS has dominated the YouTube platform once more with their previous track.
On April 15, the boy group’s music video for hit song “DNA” has set a new record as it surpassed 700 million views on YouTube. Notably, they are the first Korean boy group to reach this milestone.
According to their agency, Big Hit Entertainment, the video passed the threshold at 3:32 a.m. to become the second most-viewed video for K-Pop acts after BLACKPINK’s “DDU-DU DDU-DU.”
Released as the title track for their EP Love Yourself: Her in September 2017, the song’s video also brought honor to BTS earlier this year as they became the first Korean group to hit 600 million YouTube views.
In addition, the song ranked on Billboard’s Hot 100 for four consecutive weeks upon its release. Moreover, it received a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) back in February 2018.
Other YouTube Feats
Aside from “DNA”, other music video tracks of BTS have also reached impressive feats.
Recently, “Fake Love” became the third video from the band to garner 500 million YouTube views, following the record-breaking tracks such as “DNA” and “Fire.”
It was in May 2018 when the group released the successful album Love Yourself: Tear, which brought ARMYs the hit song “Fake Love.”
Up until today, it remains as the highest Billboard charting BTS song, which peaked at the 10th spot on the Hot 100 chart last year.
Meanwhile, the K-Pop septet’s newest song “Boy With Luv” also continues to soar high in the worldwide music scene. Their latest track has also set a new YouTube record on April 14 as it became the fastest Korean music video to hit 100 million views.
