BTS And “Fake Love” Are The Most Streamed K-Pop Artist And Song On Spotify In 2018

2018 is indeed the year BTS took over the world with its music!

BTS is the most streamed K-Pop artist and the most streamed group globally on Spotify for the year 2018, based on the music streaming platform’s data.

The K-Pop sensation, who also leads the list of most streamed artist in five Asian countries, has almost 11 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Moreover, “Fake Love” is the most streamed K-Pop song in the world.

The song, which served as the title track of its third Korean studio album Love Yourself: Tear, was streamed more than 175 million times since its release in May.

BLACKPINK followed BTS as the most streamed K-Pop artist globally, while its chart-topping song “DDU-DU DDU-DU” was the most streamed track on Spotify’s K-Pop Daebak playlist that features the hottest hits from emerging and chart-topping K-Pop acts. “Forever Young” was also part of the list, coming in at number seven.

Meanwhile, EXO recorded the third highest number of streaming for a K-Pop act in 2018 on the music streaming platform.

Additionally, Chanyeol’s “Stay With Me” from Goblin and Chen’s “Everytime” from Descendants of the Sun placed third and seventh on the most streamed songs on the Korean OSTs playlist. “Stay With Me” and “Everytime” both featured soloist Punch.

Henry’s “It’s You” from While You Were Sleeping was the most listened track on Spotify’s Korean OSTs playlist, which includes songs from Korean movies and TV dramas.

OSTs of top-rated dramas While You Were Sleeping, Goblin, and Descendants of the Sun dominated the top ten of the most streamed tracks on the playlist.
