Philippine ARMYs Welcome BTS With Social Media Buzz; Trends #MabuhayBTS Worldwide
Welcome to the Philippines, BTS!
Philippine ARMYs are definitely starting the first day of May with much blessings. Aside from a two-night ‘2017 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE Ⅲ THE WINGS TOUR‘ concert, Korean boy group BTS will spend a whole week in the Philippines prior to their concerts.
Rap Monster, Jin, J-Hope, Suga, V, Jimin, and Jungkook arrived safely at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila, Philippines on May 1.
Social networking site Twitter saw #MabuhayBTS as its top worldwide trending topic as fans tweet about the septet’s arrival. Aside from sharing information, it was soon filled with funny reactions from fans online.
ARMYs relayed their surprise of BTS’s unexpected arrival, an emotion that seemed to be shared by airport staff who witnessed the boys’ landing firsthand.

Fans used memes and the members’ photos to express their reactions. A fan also used screen captures from V’s drama ‘Hwarang’ to express her shock upon waking up to the news.

"bts is coming to the ph in may 1"
"bts will stay here for a week"

Some fans were a bit more brazen with their reactions, probably too taken aback by the sudden news. While some were more emotional, tweeting that they are crying over the boys’ arrival and one-week stay in the country.

Although it remains unclear what the septet will be doing prior to their scheduled concerts, PH ARMYs obviously cannot hide their excitement in breathing the same ‘polluted air’ as BTS, which according to them, is “clean, safe, blessed, family-friendly, eco-friendly”.
They also filled the hashtag with creativity by situating the boys in Philippine scenarios like on a local talk show, on public transportation and even adopting a local word.

at tonight with boy abunda
kuya b: bts let's do fast talk
bts: yes na yes to the highest level
bts: soju or redhorse

(Note: ‘Tonight with Boy Abunda’ is a talk show aired on a local TV network and hosted by veteran TV host Boy Abunda. Red Horse and Zest-O, on the one hand, are local alcoholic and juice drink respectively.)

BTS after a week of staying in the Philippines:
BTS: Pashneya! #MabuhayBTS
— taehyung pics (@taehyungpiics) May 1, 2017
(Note: “Pashneya” is a word popularized by local TV drama ‘Encantadia’.)
Since the Philippines does not boast of fast internet connection, Filipino ARMYs poked fun of the possibility of them experiencing slow internet connection and how they might be reacting towards the situation.
Fans are also keeping their fingers crossed for an episode of ‘Eat Jin’, featuring local fast food chain Jollibee. Various celebrities from South Korea have previously showed their love for the fast food chain, such as former 2NE1 member Sandara Park and CNBLUE‘s JongHyun.

PH ARMYs also revealed via Twitter their greatest fears at the moment, which include security, sold-out tickets and local actress Liza Soberano, who has received attention from foreign acts like Charlie Puth and Shawn Mendes for her pretty looks.
One of their fears has apparently come true as tickets to the concerts have reportedly been sold out. This is even after a second wave of ticket selling was opened due to popular demand, proving the popularity of the group in the archipelago.

But other than expressing their excitement, surprises and fears, ARMYs also called out their fellow fans to respect the privacy of BTS during their stay in the Philippines. They asked fellow ARMYs to refrain from sharing information on the places where the group might be staying.
Stop spreading bangtan's hotel informations please let them have their own privacy and give them enough rest! ? #MabuhayBTS

BTS is set to hold its two-night concert on May 6 and 7 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. ‘2017 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE Ⅲ THE WINGS TOUR‘ is the third series of the group’s live trilogy.
The septet first visited Manila on December 2015 for its ‘2015 BTS LIVE TRILOGY Episode II: The Red Bullet’ in Manila. The one-night concert proved BTS’s popularity in the country as tickets for the concert were then sold-out. It also marked the group’s first stop outside of South Korea and Japan.
‘2017 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE Ⅲ THE WINGS TOUR‘ is brought to fans by Big Hit Entertainment and PULP Live World. Visit PULP Live World’s website and official social media accounts for updates regarding the concert.
