1. Going out of his way to save others
Getting actress Eun Hye Soo (Jung Young Joo) to do a product placement in her drama was not an easy task for Ga Yeol Chan. Moreover, the lady was hostile towards the Joonsu Foods team, as Lee Man Sik (Kim Eung Soo) had hurt her self-esteem with his venomous words in the past.
But when Eun Hye Soo’s dog was dying, Ga Yeol Chan conducted a CPR and saved the dog. However, the manager almost endangered his health because of his allergies. At the end, the actress was moved and finally agreed to the deal with Joonsu.
2. Anonymously helping an old nemesis
Though Ga Yeol Chan loathed Lee Man Sik because of the older man’s past deeds, in the end, he was his savior angel. When Oh Dong Geun (Go Gun Han) stole Lee Man Sik’s business proposal idea, there was no one who spoke up for the senior intern.
But, later someone anonymously posted an audio clip that clearly proved that Lee Man Sik was speaking the truth. That unknown savior turned out to be Ga Yeol Chan, who chose to do what was right, rather than seeking revenge.
3. Risking himself for the sake of a subordinate
A serious issue surfaced wherein a customer complained about finding a cockroach inside his ramen packet. Luckily, Ga Yeol Chan was able to come up with a settlement with the complainant, who was also Lee Tae Ri’s (Han Ji Eun) ex-boyfriend.
However, Ga Yeol Chan could not ignore it, when the ex forced himself on Lee Tae Ri. He saved the girl, but it also meant that he was risking his job since the ex-boyfriend tries to tarnish the company’s reputation.
4. Admitting his mistakes and undoing the wrongs
On realising that Lee Man Sik has only helped the Marketing Head, Namgoong Joon Soo (Park Ki Woong) decides to cut ties with him. He fires him under the pretense that the senior intern had spread a ransomware.
When Ga Yeol Chan hears the news, he brings back the old intern to work again. Also, he confesses to Joon Soo that he caused the ransomware virus to spread.
5. Giving second chances to others
Ga Yeol Chan may not have been the perfect manager, but his interns Lee Tae Ri and Joo Yoon Soo (Noh Jong Hyun) seem to have set too high expectations for him. So, when they realised the flaws of their idealistic manager, they wreck a havoc.
This leads to the suspension of all the three. Regardless, Ga Yeol Chan still gives them a chance to salvage their jobs and takes them along in his trip for new product development.
6. Overworking himself for the sake of the team
Knowing that the Marketing team will be in trouble, Ga Yeol Chan gives his best in developing the new product. Though, due to the work pressure, he could not help but nag at his subordinates.
Quite misunderstood, Ga Yeol Chan had the best interests in his heart. Making it worse, he also faints due to over-exhaustion.
7. He trusts his people when no one else does
A testing by the food authority revealed that the content of ramen noodles from various companies exceeded the established limit of a certain ingredient. The vendor responsible for the supplies ends up in a soup, with all the companies suing him for the damages caused.
Contrary to others, Ga Yeol Chan decides to put his trust in the old vendor and investigates the case himself. Unfortunately, in this case, the vendor lied about his faulty machines and took advantage of Ga Yeol Chan’s trust.
What’s next on Kkondae Intern?
Problems for Ga Yeol Chan seems to be unending as people around him take his kindness for granted. In the most recent episode, Joo Yoon Soo threatened Ga Yeol Chan by stating that he knows that the manager had killed a man.
Meanwhile, the previews for episode 17-18 shows that Ga Yeol Chan and Lee Tae Ri are getting closer. It will be interesting to see how this relationship progresses and if it causes any more hiccups in Yeol Chan’s life.
As for the bromance between Ga Yeol Chan and Lee Man Sik, they have got best chemistry. Hopefully, there will be more of their bickering moments as they team up to get rid of all the hurdles.
Kkondae Intern airs every Wednesday and Thursday via MBC.
