Kim Woo Bin and Suzy Reunite in Netflix’s Darkly Enchanted Rom-Com “Genie, Make a Wish”

Netflix has unveiled the teaser for Genie, Make a Wish, reuniting Kim Woo-bin and Suzy in a genre-blending romantic comedy that’s anything but ordinary.

Set to stream worldwide on October 3, the series promises a magical ride laced with dark humor, sizzling tension, and a dash of danger.

Kim Woo-bin stars as a genie who’s been trapped for a thousand years—until he’s awakened by Ga-young (Suzy), a cold-hearted woman with a chilling edge. Bound by three wishes and a deadly wager, the two are locked in a twisted power struggle that’s equal parts suspenseful and seductive. In the teaser, the genie warns with a devilish grin: “He’s not your run-of-the-mill genie… to use a name you may recognize, it’s ‘Satan.’” That line alone sets the tone for a story that’s as eerie as it is electrifying.

The teaser poster captures their volatile dynamic: Genie looming with menace, Ga-young defiantly pressing a hairpin to his throat. The trailer builds on that tension, showing Genie chasing down wishes while Ga-young shuts him down with icy precision. But beneath the chaos, glimpses of Ga-young laughing, crying, and unraveling hint at a deeper emotional storm—and a romance that could burn or bloom.

This marks Kim Woo-bin and Suzy’s first on-screen reunion since Uncontrollably Fond, and their chemistry is just as electric—only this time, it’s laced with danger and dark humor. With a script by The Glory’s Kim Eun-sook and direction from Lee Byeong-heon, Genie, Make a Wish promises a fresh twist on the genie myth, wrapped in high-stakes romance and supernatural intrigue.

Streaming exclusively on Netflix on October 3, this K-fantasy rom-com is poised to be one of the season’s most talked-about releases.
