“Imitation” K-Drama Confirms Its Official Premiere Date Raising Fans’ Anticipation

The highly anticipated webtoon turned drama, Imitation, confirmed its upcoming premiere date, exciting fans!

Imitation, KBS2’s upcoming adaptation of the famous webtoon under the same name, will premiere this May. The show will air as the network’s regular Friday drama, following its premiere on May 7.


Previously, many suspected that Imitation would replace the airing of Dear M, which was scheduled to premiere on February 26. The production and broadcast date halted following allegations that its lead actor, Park Hyesoo, engaged in school violence.

As a result, KBS representatives stated, “We are still discussing Dear M which was postponed, but we are not sure when it will be aired.”

Meanwhile, Imitation follows the plot of the beloved Kakao Page webtoon of the same name. The drama is penned by writer Kim Minjung and directed by Han Hyunhee. The story is a message of support to those striving to achieve their dreams to become an idol in the era of immense competition.

Its cast includes Jung Jiso, Lee Junyoung, Park Jiyeon, ATEEZ’s Yunho and fellow members Jongho, Seonghwa, and San. SF9’s Kang Chanhee and Hwiyoung will also appear while Yuri, Ahn Junghoon, Lim Nayoung, Minseo, Lee Suwoong, Danny Ahn, and Shim Eunjin join to make a star-studded lineup.

Fans can look forward to its premiere May 7.
