K-Drama Sneak Peek: Will Kim So Hyun Follow The Right Romance Signal In “Love Alarm”?
Discovering young love led by a mobile app spins Netflix’s newest romantic treat – Love Alarm!
Starring Kim So Hyun and rookie actors Song Kang and Jung Ga Ram, the newest Netflix Korean series narrates the story of friends who find themselves caught in between what they sincerely feel and what a mobile app recommends to be their liking.
When a mobile app went viral, its young users plunge to test its popularity – and to see if real love is within their reach. Designed to send an alarm, the mobile app detects if someone within a 10-meter radius has romantic feelings to the mobile app user.
Kim Jojo, the female lead of the story, is one of the few exceptions on riding the bandwagon as she has concerns to prioritize than finding love. However, Jojo soon faces a love triangle situation between Sun Oh, who she is fond of, and Hye Young, who has a huge crush on her.
Jojo’s Two Love Alarms
In the released official teaser video, Kim’s character Jojo says in voice over how hiding love is impossible in the world she lives in. Much as she wants to celebrate when a love alarm prompted, she did not expect to complicate a friendship between a new and old friend.
Love Alarm rings for Jojo and Sun Oh (Song Kang), confirming that they like each other. But what does it really mean? Hye Young (Jung Ga Ram) has yet to install the app, and makes a futile attempt to hide his feelings for Jojo.
Two guys and two very different ways of showing Jojo how they each feel about her. Now, the choice is up to Jojo!
Love Alarm is based on a popular Korean webtoon of the same title by Chon Kye Young, whose other works like Unplugged Boy and Audition have a strong following in Korea. It will be streamed on Netflix beginning August 22.
