Netflix’s Upcoming Rom-Com “Lovestuck” Brings Amnesia, Romance, and Taffy to the Countryside

By  |

What happens when a sharp, no-nonsense prosecutor wakes up with no memory of who she is—only to be told by a stranger that he’s her devoted boyfriend?

Toss in a cozy countryside village lined with taffy shops, and you’ve got the delightfully offbeat premise of Lovestuck, Netflix’s upcoming original romantic comedy series that promises laughter, mystery, and heartfelt moments.

Currently in production, Lovestuck tells the story of Go Eun-sae, a brilliant and ambitious prosecutor who suddenly finds herself grappling with amnesia. Her once orderly, fast-paced life in the city is replaced with the peaceful (and puzzling) rhythms of rural life. To make things even stranger, a man she doesn’t recognize insists he’s her lover.

That man is Jang Tae-ha, portrayed by the ever-charming Jung Hae-in (Something in the Rain, One Spring Night, Mom’s Friend’s Son). Once a promising youth boxing champion, Tae-ha strayed into the criminal underworld before turning over a new leaf as a boxing coach in a small village. On what was supposed to be his final job for the gang, he crosses paths with Eun-sae—his first love, who now doesn’t remember a thing about him or their past. Desperate to protect her, Tae-ha takes a gamble and pretends they’re a couple, setting in motion a romance built on sweet lies and second chances.

Stepping into the spotlight as Eun-sae is Ha-young (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call), making her highly anticipated debut in a rom-com leading role. Known for her sharp instincts and quick wit, Eun-sae’s world is turned upside down as she tries to piece together her identity. As she stumbles through her new life among curious villagers and colorful taffy vendors, she slowly begins to fall for the warmth and sincerity Tae-ha offers—even as questions about their past loom large.

Lovestuck brings together director Kim Jang-han (Do You Like Brahms?, My Demon) and writer Mo Ji-hye (You Raise Me Up) in a much-awaited creative reunion after four years. Their signature blend of emotionally rich storytelling and whimsical charm sets the tone for this quirky, heartwarming love story.

Set against a backdrop of pastoral charm and sticky-sweet candy shops, Lovestuck is a tale of rediscovery, redemption, and romance. It explores what it means to fall in love all over again—with someone you once knew, and perhaps more importantly, with yourself.

With its intriguing setup, beloved cast, and a dash of small-town magic, Lovestuck is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of heartfelt, high-concept romance. Stay tuned—this unforgettable love story is coming soon, exclusively on Netflix.
