“Love Alarm” Lets Young Romance Beats Through A Mobile App On Netflix In August

Kim So Hyun preps up to find romance in Love Alarm, the newest K-Drama treat from Netflix.

“If you’re in love, Love Alarm will ring, If you’re in love, you cannot hide your feelings.” Set to premiere on August 22, the series narrates the story of friends who find themselves caught in between what they sincerely feel and what a mobile app recommends to be their liking.

 

Designed to send an alarm, the mobile app detects if someone within a 10-meter radius has romantic feelings to the mobile app user. Charming, right?

Quickly becoming a social phenomenon, “love alarm” has everyone use it to test their love and popularity.

Kim Jojo, the female lead of the story, is one of the few exceptions as she has concerns to prioritize than finding love. However, Jojo soon faces a love triangle situation between Sun Oh, who she is fond of, and Hye Young, who has had a huge crush on her.

Portraying the story of bright girl Kim Jo Jo, who finds love by using the mobile app, is actress Kim So Hyun. Her character remains optimistic despite a tragic family history. Her most recent projects are Hey Ghost, Let’s Fight and Radio Romance. Caught in a love triangle because of the mobile app, she confronts her emotions to Hwang Sun Oh and Lee Hye Yeong.

Handsome and rich Sun Oh (Song Kang) has it all and likes Jojo. Hye Yeong (Jung Ga Ram), a good friend of Jojo also likes her.

Love Alarm is based on a popular Korean webtoon of the same title by Chon Kye Young, whose other works like Unplugged Boy and Audition have a strong following in Korea.
