Netflix Unveils “The Facade of Love,” a Tense Romance Led by Lee Dong Wook, Jeon So Nee, Jung Yu Mi, and Lee Jong Won

Netflix has officially announced The Facade of Love, a new series that dives into the quiet unraveling of seemingly perfect lives, headlined by a powerhouse cast including Lee Dong-wook, Jeon So-nee, Jung Yu-mi, and Lee Jong-won.

The story begins with Ji-hun and Hu-kyung—two strangers far from home—who share a single, unforgettable night in an unfamiliar place. Both expect life to return to normal once they’re back in Korea. But what they shared lingers, quietly fracturing the lives of not just two, but four people, as hidden emotions and buried truths begin to surface.

At the helm is director Mo Wan-il, known for his emotionally charged and tension-rich storytelling in The World of the Married, paired with writer Ha Su-jin, whose grounded, character-driven narratives shape the series into an intimate exploration of how a single choice can ripple through marriages, families, and carefully maintained facades.

Lee Dong-wook takes on Ji-hun, a man caught between desire and duty, bringing his signature emotional depth seen in Guardian: The Lonely and Great God and Tale of the Nine Tailed. Opposite him, Jeon So-nee plays Hu-kyung, a quietly intense presence who becomes both the spark and the center of the upheaval.

Jung Yu-mi portrays Sun-hee, Ji-hun’s wife, whose world is shaken by an unexpected truth, while Lee Jong-won plays Dae-hee, her younger brother, whose own connection to Hu-kyung adds another layer of complexity to the tangled relationships.

As emotions collide and loyalties blur, The Facade of Love peels back the polished surfaces of its characters’ lives to reveal desire, guilt, and the uncomfortable truths they can no longer ignore.
