NU’EST’s JR, AB6IX’s Donghyun, And Yoon Jisung As Idol Band Members In New Korean Drama “I’ll Be Your Night”
It’s a mini Produce 101 reunion! These talented idols will be portraying idol band members and fans can’t wait to see what they’ve got!
NU’EST’s JR, AB6IX’s Donghyun, and Yoon Jisung take on the challenge as they become official casts for the new Korean drama, I’ll Be Your Night.
I’ll Be Your Night will be a healing romance drama that tells the story of a top idol band and a suspicious live-in doctor who moves into their dorms to secretly treat a member who sleepwalks.
Particularly, the drama will combine the romantic comedy genre with K-POP, which has gained global popularity. Additionally, the drama will be based on the interesting thought of “What if I ended up living in the same house as my idol?”
Specifically, NU’EST’s charismatic leader JR will portray the role of Lee Shin, the bassist of the top idol band LUNA. People assume that he is a free-spirited person, but in reality, he is a passionate guy who gives his all for love. JR’s character Lee Shin has a strong fanbase of older women (noona) fans. Lee Shin is often called “Lee Shin Oppa” or “A guy who was an oppa from birth until forever.”
Relatively, this will be JR’s first acting role in a drama, and he is set to not only give a realistic portrayal of a K-POP idol band member, but he will also captivate fans around the world with his realistic acting skills.
Moreover, this will not be Yoon Jisung’s first appearance as an actor as he already took his first step in acting with musicals The Days and Return. In the drama, Yoon Jisung will play Kim Yu-chan, the drummer of the band, who looks like an icon of desire but turns out to be a lonely boy covered with wounds.
While, AB6IX’s Donghyun will showcase his acting prowess as Gaon, the youngest member of the band. In particular, Gaon joined the group at the age of 17 after passing the 10000:1 competition two years ago. However, he is also described as an uncontrollable character that makes everyone intimidated by him.
Further, actor Jung In-sun has been offered to act as the female lead and is currently under consideration. Specifically, the role offered was the female doctor who secretly moved into the dorms to treat a member of the band.
K-drama fans may have been familiar with this kind of plot as it is reminiscent of tvN’s Shut Up Flower Boy Band and the web drama EXO Next Door.
Meanwhile, “I’ll Be Your Night” will begin its production in May with the aim te be released in the second half of 2021.
