The Main Plot

Set in the background of early 19th century, Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung reels interest with its woman-empowering premise. The period drama threads on the struggle of female historians who face bias treatment in the society where Confucianism is deeply-rooted.

Challenging his first period drama, idol-actor Cha Eun Woo portrays the role of Prince Yi Rim. Sheltered as the second in line to the throne, the distant prince only knows love by theory. When he dons his other life outside the palace, he is interestingly a popular romance novelist. While he is celebrated in the city, he adorably worries about his works, that he often needs public approval leading him to personally check on the readers’ reactions.

In one of his “other life” adventure he chances upon Goo Hae Ryung (Shin Se Kyung) who will make his life outside the palace eventful. From a chance encounter their connection will bloom to love. Image teasers of their first meeting shows Cha’s character meeting Shin at a book store. Scanning the place, Prince Yi Rim approaches Hae Ryung to ask her opinion about the book.
