Sung Hoon Confirmed For New Noir K-Drama

Talented actor Sung Hoon is set to star in an interesting drama falling under the noir genre!

After stealing K-Drama fans’ hearts with his role in the SBS drama Woori the Virgin, Sung Hoon has recently accepted the role in upcoming drama, My Heart is Beating (LT).


Just recently, the actor’s agency, Stallion Entertainment announced, “Sung Hoon is confirmed to appear in the new drama ‘My Heart is Beating’ (literal title).”

Based on a manhwa of the same name, My Heart is Beating falls under the action noir genre and depicts the bromance of rough men. Leading the show’s overall production is writer Jung Won Jung and director Jo Dong Oh.

Sung Hoon will take the role of Kang Woo Joo, the president of Taebong Construction who was the former troubleshooter for the gang of the Sanho faction. Kang Woo Joo has such excellent fighting skills and extraordinary intelligence that he is absolutely trusted by the boss.

This will mark Sung Hoon’s comeback to the small screen following his successful stint in the romantic comedy drama Woori the VirginThat said, expectations are now rising regarding what kind of lessons and messages the program will present to the viewers. It will also be exciting to see how the versatile actor portrays such interesting character and transform into such a strong and fierce character. 

Sung Hoon debuted in 2011 through the supernatural drama New Tales of Gisaeng, which earned him a New Star Award at 2011 SBS Drama Awards. He then appeared in various projects after including FaithOh My Venus, My Secret Romance, and the first two seasons of Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)

My Heart is Beating will start filming in the second half of this year. There is no update yet as to when the drama will officially air.
