Boasting a solid lineup with Yoon Shi Yoon, Jung In Sun and Park Sung Hoon, tvN’s new drama preps up for its target broadcast date.

Adding to the anticipation is its creative team spearheaded by Director Lee Jong Jae (100 Days My Prince) and writer Ryu Yong Jae (Liar Game).

Psychopath Diary (working title) threads on the story of a man who witness the crime of a serial-killer. While running away from the murder scene, he met an accident, and wakes up without a memory and recollection of the killing that he saw.

The Psychopath’s Diary

Taking the role of the unfortunate crime witness Yook Dong Sik is actor Yoon Shi Yoon. His character is sketched as a passive employee working at a securities firm. However, when he wakes up with the psychopath’s diary in his hand, his darker side is unleashed. Believing himself to be a psychopath, he transforms from having a pure and sincere demeanor to a man with devilish tendencies.

Consistently showing the deep trench of his acting range, Yoon is up for another challenging role. He recently wrapped up acclaimed SBS historical series Nokdu Flower.

A psychopath chase

Scoring the female lead, Jung In Sun suits up to the role of neighborhood police officer Shim Bo Kyung. Following the footsteps of her father who used to be a revered detective, reality hits her hard when her father lost all that he has because of a mistake. Her life gets entangled with Yoon’s character after causing the accident that lead to his amnesia. From there, she moves to uncover the mystery surrounding him.

Marking his comeback drama since My Secret Terrius, Jung is billed to add emotions with hints of comical acting for her character.

Portraying the role of the villain serial killer Seo In Woo is Park Sung Hoon, a director of a securities firm who is the real owner of the diary. Committing murder, he hides his quenchless psychopath tendencies behind his power and position. The versatile actor has a long list of projects owing to his precise character immersion. He starred on dramas Justice, My Only One and Rich Man to name a few.

An official from tvN confirmed the casting. He said, “We expect that the three actors will show their presence with solid acting power and irreplaceable charm that will show explosive synergy.”

Psychopath Diary is aiming an airing date on the second half of 2019.
