8Eight To Pull On Heartstrings Once More In Long-Awaited Reunion Comeback

By  |

This year, 8Eight is preparing to tug on everyone’s heartstrings once more as they make their return to the music scene.

After six years, co-ed ballad group 8Eight is releasing brand new music. On January 31, BigHit Entertainment confirmed that Lee Hyun, Baek Chan, and Joo Hee will be joining forces once more to produce brand new music.

According to a representative from the agency, 8Eight’s new music is scheduled for release on February 7, 6 PM KST. Their upcoming release is slated to be a special gift for their fans, and is produced by Bang Si Hyuk and composer Wonderkid. As of writing, BigHit Entertainment has not released further details about 8Eight comeback.

8Eight made their debut on August 2007, through a performance at MBC’s Show! Music Core. The trio’s rise to fame began with their debut album, The First, and stood out from the rest through their emotional ballads paired with catchy vocals and raps.

Their emotional ballads allowed them to earn prominence at the K-Pop music scene, being recognized as the producer of “parting songs” in the late 2000s. Through the course of their career, they produced hits such as “Without A Heart” and “Goodbye My Love.”

In 2014, the group temporarily disbanded after Joo Hee and Baek Chan’s contracts with BigHit Entertainment expired, and the pair opted to sign with different agencies for their solo music careers. Despite this, the trio still reunited in 2019 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of “Without A Heart.”
