Aespa Smashes Record For Highest First-Day Album Sales For A K-Pop Girl Group With “GIRLS”
Talented girl group Aespa keeps on achieving greater heights each comeback! They recently attained an impressive sales feat with their latest album, GIRLS!
Aespa proves continuous musical and artistic growth by marking their latest comeback album with an astounding sales feat.
Just recently, the girl group made their return to the K-Pop scene with their second mini-album, GIRLS.
Spearheaded by the powerful and unique title track of the same name, Aespa’s latest offering showcases their impressive musical colors, outstanding singing and rapping abilities, and incredible harmonization.
Released on July 8, GIRLS has recently recorded 806,891 copies sold on Hanteo. Notably, the girls were able to attain such an amazing feat in just a day since the album’s successful worldwide release.
In addition, the EP’s first-day sales achievement was way higher than what their first mini-album SAVAGE attained in 2021. The latter recorded 276,877 sold only during its first week, which is still massive for such a well-rounded girl group.
The said feat also allowed aespa to set a new record for the highest first-day sales by any female artist in Hanteo history. The previous record belonged to BLACKPINK‘s THE ALBUM, which sold 589,310 copies during its first day of release back in 2020.
These subsequent feats are fitting presents for the girls who have achieved quite a lot in the past months. Apart from attending the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) 2022 on July 5, Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning also recently performed on Good Morning America‘s Summer Concert Series.
AN EXTREMELY TALENTED GIRL GROUP
Proving their immense popularity, aespa also dominated iTunes Top Album Charts in at least 13 counties with their latest album. These include Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Philippines, Singapore, among others.
Meanwhile, their title track “Girls” also topped iTunes Top Song Chart in several countries including Ecuador, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.
