BLACKPINK’s Lisa Smashes An All-Time Record For Initial Sales With “LALISA”

By  |

BLACKPINK’s Lisa makes a historical record with the most first week sales of a Korean female artist according to the Hanteo Chart.

Lisa of BLACKPINK reached a major milestone in her career, shattering the record for the most first week initial sales of an album by a Korean female artist. According to the Hanteo Chart, Lisa’s LALISA sold 736,221 copies in the first week of its release. The artist’s solo project exceeded the record set by BLACKPINK’s, THE ALBUM, which sold around 690,000 initial copies.

The recorded sales does not account for some exported copies, due to the varying album distribution within America and Europe. However, including the estimated amount of overseas albums, Lisa sold over 800,000 copies.

Lisa first reached the achievement of most initial first week sales for a Korean female artist alongside her members of BLACKPINK. Together, the group also became the first K-Pop girl group to exceed one million copies according to the Gaon Physical Albums Chart.

Many anticipate that Lisa will become a million seller yet again, as it is probable that LALISA will surpass one million cumulative sales soon.

In response to her success, YG stated, “BLACKPINK’s first full-length album has continued to increase sales at home and abroad since the initial tally period, recording a cumulative 1.4 million albums. LALISA’s LPs, which have not yet been released, will increase sales further.”

The Successful Journey So Far

Lisa continues to reach incredible milestones, in addition to shattering album sales records.

Her music video for “LALISA” gained a staggering 73.6 million views, only 24 hours after its release. This made Lisa the world’s solo artist who gained the most videos in one day. Moreover, after exceeding 100 million views in only two days, Lisa broke the record for the quickest K-Pop soloist to reach this achievement.

The music video also topped YouTube trends for an impressive seven days.

Meanwhile, Lisa’s album and title track soared to the top of iTunes’ Top Song Chart in 72 countries. It continues to remain steady at the top of Spotify’s Global Chart.

To the delight of fans, Lisa also released the choreography video for “LALISA”, which has surpassed 5.5 million views. The video captivated viewers by highlighting her strong performing skills and innate rhythm.

Support for the artist’s first solo venture continues to soar, with no signs of stopping.
